Solution Architect

Location: Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad

Role Summary

Primary technical design authority for the offshore delivery squads. Co-owns the solution architecture with the onsite Solution Architect, leads detailed design across all six core microservices, and ensures every squads implementation is fully faithful to the agreed architecture baseline, ADRs, and bank-grade engineering standards. This is a deep technical role not a coordination role.

Key Responsibilities

Co-own the solution architecture across all seven platform layers alongside the onsite

Solution Architect; take primary ownership of detailed design for assigned workstreams

Produce and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for assigned domains data layer, eventing, workflow orchestration, and integration patterns

Define low-level technical designs: sequence diagrams, domain models, data schemas, API contracts (OpenAPI 3.0), and Kafka topic/event schemas for all 6 core microservices

Own integration design for assigned touchpoints KYC/AML adapter, ERP connectors (SAP

S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion), and payment hub ensuring no direct database links and full APIfirst compliance

Define and enforce distributed system patterns across squads: Saga/rollback compensation,

DLQ handling, idempotency keys, event sourcing, and BFF layer design

Conduct architecture compliance reviews on all code and design artefacts produced by Sr

Fullstack Developers and Tech Lead

Define security design for assigned services: OAuth2/OIDC token flows, mTLS configuration,

RBAC enforcement, and secrets management integration

Ensure cloud-agnostic portability of all designed components deployable on EKS (AWS),

AKS (Azure), or self-managed Kubernetes without code changes

Represent the offshore team at the Architecture Review Board; prepare and present design proposals and trade-off analyses





Identify and escalate architectural risks, integration blockers, and design gaps proactively

Required Skills Experience

12+ years of software engineering with 5+ years in solution or enterprise architecture

Deep expertise in microservices architecture, event-driven design, and distributed systems

Saga patterns, DLQ, idempotency, event sourcing

Expert-level Java/Spring Boot Spring Security, Spring Cloud Gateway, Spring Data JPA,

Spring Cloud Stream

Hands-on experience with Kafka (topic design, consumer groups, DLQ patterns, schema registry) and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS or self-managed)

Robust API design skills: OpenAPI 3.0, REST versioning strategies, idempotent API design, and

API Gateway patterns (Kong, WSO2, or Apigee)

Proven experience designing cloud-agnostic platforms with abstraction layers across AWS,

Azure, and on-premises

Deep knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT, RBAC, and API security patterns

Experience with integration architecture: REST, async messaging, file-based SFTP, ERP connectors, and enterprise integration patterns

Proficiency with PostgreSQL (schema design, partitioning, query optimisation), Redis

(caching, idempotency), and S3-compatible object storage

Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps-based infrastructure delivery

Proven track record delivering architecture for banking-grade platforms (payments, trade finance, lending, or SCF)

Nice to Have

Experience with trade finance or SCF platform architecture (booking engines, payment hubs,

GL integration, API gateway patterns)

Experience with Camunda or Temporal for long-running workflow orchestration
