Role Description The Solar Analyst Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area. This role involves analyzing solar resource data, evaluating site conditions, and developing energy yield assessments for photovoltaic (PV) projects.

The Solar Analyst

Engineer will prepare technical reports, support project design optimization, and collaborate with engineering, legal, and operations teams to ensure accurate, transparent project evaluations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing performance metrics, conducting feasibility studies, maintaining data models and simulation tools, and supporting risk assessments related to solar installations. The role also requires clear documentation, adherence to industry standards, and active participation in cross-functional meetings to support ethical and sustainable project development.

Qualifications

- Technical and analytical skills in solar energy systems, including experience with PV performance analysis, energy yield modeling, and basic electrical or mechanical engineering concepts.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and software commonly used in solar resource assessment (e.g., Excel, data visualization tools, and solar simulation platforms such as PVsyst or similar).
- Strong research and problem-solving abilities,



with the capacity to interpret technical documentation, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy.
- Explicit written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presenting findings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Physics, or a related field; professional certifications in solar or energy analysis are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Kolkata Area, manage multiple projects, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-evolving organizational environment.

Qualification & Experience

Mandatory: Electrical Engineering or BSc/Science with Physics, with 2+ years’ relevant experience in Electrical, Energy, Power, Solar or related technical domains. Additionally, 6+ months’ analytics experience OR proven analytical projects is required.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse grid performance, outages, load demand, smart-meter recharge and consumption, energy losses, solar/DG generation, plant efficiency, billing and customer data. Prepare MIS reports, KPI dashboards and actionable insights while supporting Operations, Finance, auditors, regulators and stakeholders.

Tools & Skills

Practical knowledge of Power BI/Tableau, Advanced Excel and SQL. Python/R is advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills required.
