AI coding agents are becoming increasingly powerful, but they still lack the context required to understand a codebase, the history behind a change, and how engineering teams actually work.

KONTXT.dev connects signals across codebases, pull requests, tickets, errors, documentation, decisions, and developer workflows to provide AI systems with the right context at the right time.

About the Role

We're looking for an entry-level Frontend Engineer who is excited about building the next generation of AI-powered developer experiences.

You'll work closely with our founding, product, and engineering teams to build interfaces that sit directly on top of AI systems — turning complex LLM workflows, context retrieval, and developer workflows into products that feel simple and intuitive.

You'll work across both frontend engineering and AI application development, giving you the opportunity to learn how modern AI products are built end-to-end.

This is a high-ownership role where you'll work on real product features from idea to production and have a direct impact on the product we're building.

What You'll Do

Frontend Engineering

- Build and ship high-quality product experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies.
- Translate product requirements and Figma designs into clean, responsive, production-ready interfaces.
- Build reusable components and contribute to a scalable frontend architecture.
- Develop interfaces for complex workflows involving code, context, search, AI agents, and developer tooling.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services.
- Work closely with backend engineers to build reliable end-to-end product experiences.
- Improve application performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and UX.
- Debug production issues and continuously improve frontend reliability.

AI Product Engineering

- Build user interfaces around LLM-powered workflows and AI agents.
- Work with technologies such as Vercel AI SDK / AI SDK UI to build AI-native interfaces.
- Implement experiences involving streaming AI responses, chat interfaces, tool calls, structured outputs, and AI-generated content.
- Integrate applications with LLM APIs and AI services.
- Build intuitive UX around concepts such as context retrieval, citations, reasoning states, agent actions, and tool execution.
- Experiment with new AI capabilities and rapidly turn prototypes into product features.
- Help create interfaces that make complex AI workflows understandable and useful for developers.

Qualifications

- Strong fundamentals in front-end development and responsive web design, with an understanding of how to build modern, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3, with a good understanding of component-based architecture and reusable UI patterns.
- Familiarity with modern UI and component libraries such as Material UI (MUI), Ant Design, Shadcn/ui, Chakra UI, or similar.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or other modern CSS frameworks is a strong plus.
- Understanding of web development and software engineering principles, including clean code, debugging, version control, testing, and maintainable architecture.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, asynchronous programming, and frontend-backend integration.
- Comfortable working with Git/GitHub and standard software development workflows.
- Ability to work with Figma or similar design tools and translate UI/UX designs into polished, functional interfaces.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for interaction design, usability, responsiveness, and visual consistency.
- Interest in AI/LLMs and AI-powered applications with a willingness to learn modern AI application development.
- Familiarity with concepts such as LLM APIs, streaming, embeddings, RAG, tool calling, or AI agents is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
- 0–2 years of experience in frontend development, software engineering, internships, or relevant project experience. Fresh graduates with strong projects are encouraged to apply.
- Education: BCA, MCA, B.E., B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience and strong project work will also be considered.

Bonus Points You don't need all of these, but they'll definitely get our attention:

- Experience with Vercel AI SDK / AI SDK UI.
- Experience building AI-powered applications or LLM interfaces.
- Familiarity with OpenAI,



Anthropic, Gemini, or other LLM APIs.
- Understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, tool calling, function calling, or agentic workflows.
- Experience building streaming AI interfaces.
- Experience with Next.js App Router.
- Experience with Zustand, Redux, TanStack Query, or similar.
- Experience with Framer Motion or other animation libraries.
- Familiarity with Jest, Vitest, Playwright, or other frontend testing tools.
- Understanding of web performance, accessibility, and browser fundamentals.
- Experience building and deploying personal or side projects.
- Contributions to GitHub or open-source projects.
- Experience building developer tools, SaaS products, dashboards, IDE extensions, or coding assistants.
