Accountabilities Major Activities Bidding
- Assist the bidding team in getting quotes, cost data from past projects for capex finalization, as required
- Explore the possibility of establishing pre-bid arrangements or framework agreements with key vendors to ensure timely engagement and competitive commercial terms for upcoming projects.
Contracting
- Lead the team in formulating strategies for contracting when procuring goods or services from various vendors after award of the project
- Lead in negotiations with the vendor within the allocated budgetand project timeline.
- Preparation of the contract document and finalizing the same in alignment with the company policies post discussion with technical, legal and project team.
- Work closely with Engineering and Execution teamon project development activities
Cost Variation and IRR Monitoring
- Highlight early warning signs of potential delays and communicate any variances, along with their implication, as necessary.
- Monitor and track the actual cost to complete for all ongoing projects against the approved project cost considered at the time of Business Case approval.
- Identify cost overruns/underruns, assess the key drivers and provide timely visibility to the management on the financial position of each project.
- Prepare and provide periodic IRR updates for all ongoing projects, comparing the latest projected IRR against the IRR approved as part of the Business Case.
- Highlight key variations and deviations, identify the underlying reasons and financial/commercial drivers, and recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions (with support and in-coordination with other teams) to mitigate adverse impact on project returns and ensure alignment with the approved Business Case.
Contract Management
- Manage project contracts from award to closure, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, milestones, deliverables, and commercial obligations.
- Identify and initiate contract amendments due to scope changes, quantity variations, timeline changes, and other project requirements.
- Lead the evaluation, negotiation, approval, and execution of amendments while ensuring proper documentation and alignment with the approved business case.
- Monitor contractor performance against contractual requirements, including scope, schedule, quality, HSE, payments, LDs, warranties, and guarantees.
- Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders for timely resolution of contractual and commercial matters.
- Ensure timely contract closure, including final quantity and payment reconciliation, settlement of claims, release of securities/retention, completion certificates, and closure of outstanding obligations.
Building knowledge pool
- Creating and maintaining the comprehensive costdata base for major supply items
- Collect information from different stakeholders in the sector about recent market happenings andpresent to team,the impact of these developments on business.
- Keep a track of past trendand future outlookof the commodity prices of the commodity that impact business.
Ensure internal/external audit preparedness.
- Ensure creation and maintenance of project documentation on a periodic basis
- Ensure audit preparedness by adhering to standardized business processes and supporting availability of all required documents
- Support in Internal reporting at India/ Group level- MD update / Quarterly PIO update and other Reporting documents.
- Contribute to various other cross-functional initiatives at India and Group-level to improve internal processes and enhance system agility

- Minimum Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, and an MBA from a reputed institute.
