About the Role:

As an SDE-3 Backend Engineer, you will serve as a technical backbone for our core platform. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable, resilient backend systems while mentoring engineers and setting benchmarks for architecture and engineering excellence. You will own modules end-to-end—driving distributed transactions, database optimizations, event-driven messaging, and cloud deployments while ensuring strict enterprise-grade security and zero-downtime reliability.

The "Knockout Criteria" (Non-Negotiables)

 Experience & Leadership: 8–10 years of total backend engineering experience with a minimum of 2+ years of engineering team leadership and technical mentorship.

 Core Backend Mastery: Advanced hands-on expertise in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Microservices architecture, REST APIs, and GraphQL (preferred).

 Distributed Systems & Messaging: Deep experience with message brokers and event streaming: Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Amazon SQS.

 Data Tier Proficiency: Advanced optimization with relational and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

 Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on mastery of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch), Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.

 Design, Reliability & Resilience: Proven expertise in SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, TDD, Resilience4j, Saga Pattern, and Distributed Transactions.

 Observability & Security: Proficiency in OAuth2, JWT, OWASP API Security,



OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Zipkin, Blue-Green deployments, Canary releases, and Feature Flags.

 Domain Preference: Prior experience in Healthcare/HealthTech and hands-on exposure to AI/LLM integrations are strongly preferred but not mandatory.

1. Architecture Design & System Scalability

· Architect, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency microservices powering the WONDRx health data ecosystem.

· Implement distributed architectural patterns (Saga, Event Sourcing, Circuit Breakers) to guarantee data consistency and system resilience.

· Drive database indexing, query optimization, caching strategies, and performance tuning across SQL and NoSQL engines.

2. Engineering Excellence, Reliability & Observability

· Enforce Clean Architecture, TDD, and modular design patterns across all code repositories.

· Implement zero-trust security controls, API gateway authentication (OAuth2/JWT), and OWASP security safeguards.

· Configure comprehensive observability suites (Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to monitor production health and automate incident alerting.

3. Team Leadership, Mentorship & Collaboration

· Lead and mentor backend engineers through technical design reviews, pair programming, and structured code audits.

· Partner closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and AI/ML engineering pods to guarantee on-time, production-grade releases.

· Own release management strategies, including Blue-Green deployments, Canary rollouts, and feature flag lifecycles.
