Highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Lead Engineer to head our instrumentation engineering design, detailing, and project execution activities. The role will involve leading task-based assignments as well as full-scale multi-disciplinary projects, primarily in Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Power sectors. The candidate will ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and project requirements while coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- 10–15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a lead role.
- Proven track record in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, or similar process industries.
- Robust knowledge of instrumentation design, detailing, and engineering practices.
- Familiarity with international standards (ISA, IEC, ANSI, ATEX, SIL, API).
- Experience with instrumentation engineering tools/software (SPI/INtools, SmartPlant, AutoCAD, Aveva, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA/ESD/F&G;).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects (small task-based and large-scale) simultaneously.
- Lead instrumentation engineering activities across all project phases – FEED, basic design, detailed engineering, and commissioning support.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables including:
- Instrument Index & I/O list
- P&ID; review and instrumentation input
- Control system architecture, specifications, and data sheets
- Cable routing layouts, hook-up drawings, and loop diagrams
- Control valve and field instrument sizing & selection
- Instrument bill of materials (MTO)
- Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards (ISA, IEC, NEC, ATEX, SIL, etc.), and client/project specifications.
- Coordinate with Process, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, and Civil/Structural disciplines for interface requirements.
- Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project needs.
- Support control system integration – DCS, PLC, ESD, F&G; systems – and provide guidance for system configuration.
- Lead site surveys, technical clarifications, and support installation/commissioning activities as needed.
- Plan, allocate, and manage instrumentation resources for task-based projects and large EPC assignments.
- Mentor and guide a team of instrumentation engineers and designers.
- Drive quality, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency in project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or related field.
