Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP MM / WM / EWM Lead Consultant / SME who can take ownership of the complete Materials Management, Warehouse Management & EWM landscape across client engagements.

The ideal candidate should be a strong functional SME and team leader with extensive hands-on experience across SAP MM, WM and/or EWM, along with proven exposure to end-to-end implementation, support, enhancement and migration projects.

This role will require the candidate to act as a key functional owner between Mawai's delivery teams, consultants, business users and client stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, designing scalable SAP solutions, guiding consultants, managing project deliverables, resolving critical functional issues and ensuring successful project execution.

The person should be capable of independently handling module-level responsibilities while also managing a team of functional consultants and coordinating with cross-functional SAP teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Module Ownership & SME Responsibilities

- Act as the functional SME / module lead for SAP MM, WM and/or EWM.
- Can design the solution including integration with other modules.
- Own the functional solution, delivery quality and overall module performance across assigned projects.
- Provide functional leadership and technical guidance to the team.
- Must have Handson experience of implementation and configuration of all the 3 modules.
- Review solution approaches, configurations, functional specifications and deliverables prepared by the team.
- Establish SAP best practices and ensure consistency of processes across projects.
- Serve as the primary functional escalation point for complex MM/WM/EWM issues.
- Drive continuous improvement of SAP processes based on business requirements and industry best practices.

2. SAP MM Functional Expertise The candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of core SAP MM processes, including:

- Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.
- Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
- RFQ and quotation management.
- Purchase contracts and scheduling agreements.
- Source determination and source lists.
- Vendor/business partner master data.
- Material master data and material classification.
- Inventory Management.
- Goods Receipt and Goods Issue.
- Stock transfers and transfer postings.
- Physical inventory.
- Batch and serial number-related processes.
- Subcontracting and external procurement.
- Consignment procurement.
- Invoice Verification.
- Material valuation and account determination.
- Release strategies / approval workflows.
- Integration of MM with FI, CO, SD, PP, WM and EWM.

The role will involve configuring and optimizing SAP MM processes based on business requirements, consistent with the existing Mawai MM delivery framework covering procurement, inventory management, valuation, vendor/material master, invoice verification, integration, testing and support. 3. SAP WM / EWM Expertise

Candidates with strong SAP WM/EWM expertise should be able to handle warehouse processes such as:

- Warehouse structure and organizational design.
- Inbound and outbound warehouse processes.
- Goods receipt and putaway.
- Picking, packing and goods issue.
- Stock movements and warehouse transfers.
- Storage types, sections and bins.
- Transfer orders / warehouse tasks.
- Physical inventory.
- Handling units.
- Warehouse process optimization.
- Batch and serial number management.
- Integration between MM, SD, PP and WM/EWM.
- EWM integration with S/4HANA.
- Warehouse process configuration and troubleshooting.
- RF/mobile warehouse processes where applicable.




- Identification and resolution of complex warehouse process issues.

4. End-to-End SAP Implementation

- Lead full-cycle SAP MM/WM/EWM implementations from requirement gathering through Go-Live and stabilization.
- Conduct business requirement workshops with client stakeholders.
- Understand the existing business process and identify gaps.
- Prepare process maps, business requirement documents and solution designs.
- Perform fit-gap analysis and recommend appropriate SAP solutions.
- Lead blueprinting / solution design activities.
- Configure the SAP system according to approved business requirements.
- Coordinate functional integration with SD, PP, FICO, QM, ABAP and other relevant teams.
- Prepare and review functional specifications for required developments.
- Lead unit testing, integration testing and UAT.
- Coordinate defect resolution and retesting.
- Support cutover planning and Go-Live activities.
- Provide post-Go-Live stabilization and hypercare support.

The existing Mawai role framework specifically emphasizes end-to-end implementation covering requirement gathering, blueprinting, configuration, testing and Go-Live, along with integration and business-process optimization. 5. SAP Migration / Transformation Projects

- Participate in and lead MM/WM/EWM activities for SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration / transformation projects.
- Understand existing legacy processes and map them to the target SAP environment.
- Support data migration activities related to material, vendor/business partner and inventory data.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation.
- Identify process gaps between legacy and target systems.
- Support migration testing, mock cutovers and final cutover activities.
- Coordinate with technical and data migration teams.
- Ensure business continuity during migration and Go-Live.

6. Team Management & Leadership

- Manage and mentor a team of SAP MM/WM/EWM consultants.
- Allocate functional tasks based on consultant capability and project priorities.
- Review individual deliverables and ensure quality standards.
- Conduct regular team reviews and project status discussions.
- Identify skill gaps and support knowledge development within the team.
- Guide consultants on complex configuration and client issues.
- Ensure team members meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Coordinate workload and resource utilization across projects.
- Act as a mentor and escalation point for functional consultants.

7. Project Management & Delivery

- Own module-level project deliverables, timelines and milestones.
- Work closely with Project Managers and other functional leads.
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies and issues.
- Identify potential delays and proactively implement corrective actions.
- Participate in project governance and review meetings.
- Provide regular status updates to management and clients.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and maintained.
- Support resource planning and allocation.
- Ensure successful delivery within agreed scope, timeline and quality standards.

8. Client Management & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Act as a key functional interface between Mawai and client stakeholders.
- Conduct requirement gathering and process discovery sessions.




- Communicate complex SAP concepts clearly to business users.
- Understand client pain points and translate them into SAP solutions.
- Manage client expectations and functional escalations.
- Participate in steering meetings, workshops and solution discussions.
- Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Coordinate with client IT, business and SAP teams for successful delivery.
- Ensure client requirements are appropriately documented, evaluated and delivered.

9. Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration The consultant must have a strong understanding of SAP integration and should be comfortable working with:

- SAP FI/CO procurement, inventory valuation and accounting integration.
- SAP SD sales, delivery, inventory and warehouse integration.
- SAP PP material staging, production supply and inventory processes.
- SAP WM/EWM – warehouse and inventory integration.
- SAP QM – quality inspection and procurement-related processes.
- SAP ABAP / Technical Teams – functional specifications, enhancements, reports, interfaces and debugging support.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Experience

- 8+ years of overall SAP functional experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM, with good exposure to WM/EWM.
- Candidates with strong MM + WM, MM + EWM, or broader MM/WM/EWM expertise are preferred.
- Minimum 7-8 full-cycle SAP implementation projects.
- Hands-on experience in SAP migration / transformation projects, preferably ECC to S/4HANA.
- Proven experience in managing a team of functional consultants.
- Experience in handling client-facing responsibilities independently.
- Strong experience in requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing and Go-Live.
- Experience working on SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC environments.
