Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP on HANA Technical Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP, S/4HANA, ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, OData, RICEF and modern ABAP development.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance and maintain SAP ABAP applications in S/4HANA and HANA environments.
- Design and develop custom RICEF objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Forms.
- Develop and optimize ABAP programs using HANA push-down techniques and modern Open SQL.
- Design and develop CDS Views, including associations, annotations and calculated fields.
- Develop AMDP classes and SQLScript for complex data processing and performance optimization.
- Develop and consume OData services using SAP Gateway.
- Work on Object-Oriented ABAP, classes, interfaces and reusable components.
- Develop and enhance BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancement Framework objects.
- Work with BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs and other SAP integration technologies.
- Develop and maintain Adobe Forms, Smart Forms and SAP Scripts.
- Perform technical analysis, debugging and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct performance tuning using ST05, SAT, ST12 and SQL Monitor.
- Participate in S/4HANA conversion, upgrade and custom-code remediation activities.
- Work on SPAU/SPDD, ATC checks, SAP Notes and custom code adaptation.
- Prepare technical specifications, unit-test documents and technical documentation.
- Perform unit testing, defect fixing and production support activities.




- Coordinate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development standards.
- Support transport management and deployment across SAP landscapes.
- Mentor junior ABAP developers and provide technical guidance when required.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- 8+ years of SAP ABAP experience
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP on HANA
- Robust experience in SAP S/4HANA
- Hands-on experience with CDS Views
- Hands-on experience with AMDP and SQLScript
- Strong knowledge of OData / SAP Gateway
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented ABAP
- Experience in RICEF development
- Experience with BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancements
- Experience with BAPIs, RFCs and IDocs
- Experience with Adobe Forms / Smart Forms
- Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills
- Good understanding of HANA database concepts and code push-down techniques

S/4HANA & Modern ABAP Skills
- Experience in S/4HANA technical development
- Knowledge of ATC and custom-code remediation
- Experience with SPAU/SPDD
- Knowledge of S/4HANA upgrade/conversion activities
- Good understanding of ABAP Development Tools (ADT) / Eclipse
- Knowledge of modern ABAP syntax and optimized Open SQL




- RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model) experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Fiori / Fiori Elements is an advantage.
- Exposure to SAP BTP / ABAP Cloud is an added advantage.

Functional Knowledge Good technical understanding of SAP modules such as:
- SAP MM
- SAP SD
- SAP PP
- SAP FI/CO

Development & Performance Optimization
- HANA code push-down
- CDS-based data modeling
- AMDP / SQLScript
- Open SQL optimization
- SQL performance analysis
- Runtime analysis
- Debugging complex ABAP programs
- Performance bottleneck identification and resolution
- Code quality and optimization

Documentation & Delivery
- Prepare Technical Specifications
- Prepare Unit Test Specifications / Unit Test Documents
- Perform peer code reviews
- Maintain development documentation
- Support SIT/UAT and defect resolution
- Support production deployments and post-production issues
- Follow defined coding and development standards

Preferred Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech or equivalent qualification.
- SAP ABAP certification is an advantage.
- Experience in large-scale SAP implementation, upgrade, rollout or support projects.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments is preferred.
