Job Title: R&D; Chef

Location: Brik Oven, Bangalore

Reports to: Co-Founder /Director

Role Overview The R&D; Chef will be responsible for driving innovation at Brik Oven by experimenting with recipes, developing new menu items, and refining existing offerings. The role demands curiosity, creativity, and deep knowledge of sourdough breads, cheese, fresh produce, and Neapolitan pizzas, while ensuring consistency, quality, and authenticity.

Key Responsibilities

- Research, develop, and test new recipes, with a focus on specialty items (Brine- The Resto Bar).
- Explore and experiment with ingredients, techniques, and flavor pairings to elevate Brik Oven’s offerings.
- Standardize recipes and processes for scalability across outlets.
- Work closely with the operations and kitchen teams to train and implement new product launches.
- Maintain a balance between creativity and cost-effectiveness in product development.
- Ensure all R&D; outputs align with Brik Oven’s brand ethos of quality, freshness, and innovation.




- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to identify and test current ingredients.
- Document and report findings, trials, and outcomes systematically.

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience as a chef, with a strong background in research, recipe development, and product innovation.
- Passion for experimenting with food, curiosity to learn, and ability to think outside the box.
- Strong understanding of ingredient behavior, fermentation, and artisanal baking.
- Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable documenting trials and outcomes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with culinary and operations teams.

Nice to Have

- Experience in menu design for QSRs or premium casual dining.
- Exposure to food science or culinary R&D; environments.
