HEAD – QUALITY, FOOD SAFETY & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Group KPI & Performance Scorecard – 6 Manufacturing Units

Role Purpose

To establish one common quality and food-safety operating system across all six manufacturing units; ensure audit and regulatory readiness; reduce consumer complaints and cost of poor quality; benchmark plant performance; build strong quality capability; and drive strategic quality improvement across the group.

1. GROUP QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY GOVERNANCE

Weightage: 15%

- Create and govern one common quality operating framework for all six units covering FSMS, FSSAI, HACCP, PRP/OPRP/CCP, GMP, GHP, sanitation, allergen control, pest management, foreign-body controls, glass & brittle plastic, product hold/release and escalation.
- Standardize group SOPs, SSOPs, formats, quality specifications and food-safety governance requirements.
- Ensure each plant maintains a minimum compliance threshold; a strong group average must not mask a weak individual plant.
- Lead annual FSMS/HACCP governance review and oversee critical food-safety risk closure.

2. MULTI-PLANT AUDIT, CERTIFICATION & COMPLIANCE

Weightage: 15%

- Establish a central annual audit calendar across all six units, including quarterly group audits, cross-plant audits and surprise audits.
- Govern internal audits, FSSAI, ISO/FSMS, HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, customer audits, export/customer-specific audits and regulatory inspections, as applicable.
- Own group-level audit readiness, NC classification, RCA, CAPA, repeat-NC trend and management escalation.
- Create a Plant Quality Maturity Score and rank all six units quarterly.

3. CONSUMER COMPLAINTS, RCA & CAPA GOVERNANCE

Weightage: 12%

- Own group-level consumer complaint governance while Plant Quality Managers execute individual investigations.
- Review complaints by plant, category, SKU, defect type, line, shift and repeat occurrence.
- Identify top recurring defects and launch structured corrective and preventive improvement projects.
- Ensure systemic learnings from one plant are horizontally deployed to other applicable units.

4. PLANT QUALITY PERFORMANCE & BENCHMARKING

Weightage: 12%

- Create a monthly six-plant quality scorecard and rank all units using a common scoring methodology.
- Benchmark complaint PPM, PQI, rejection, GMP/GHP, food safety, audit score, CAPA, hold, process deviation, sanitation, pest control, quality cost, Kaizen and training.
- Create recovery plans for bottom-performing units and escalate repeat red KPIs.
- Ensure no unit remains below the minimum quality threshold without a documented recovery plan.

5. QUALITY MIS, ANALYTICS & MANAGEMENT REVIEW

Weightage: 10%

- Create one standardized Group Quality MIS instead of separate non-comparable plant reporting formats.
- Maintain plant category line SKU defect drill-down across key quality metrics.
- Present one monthly Group Quality Review to Director / COO / Operations Head.
- Use trend, Pareto and ageing analysis to focus management attention on the highest-risk and highest-cost gaps.

6. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT / KAIZEN / COST OF POOR QUALITY

Weightage: 12%

- Drive group-wide quality Kaizen and strategic improvement projects focused on complaints, rejection, rework, breakage, quality-linked wastage, hold/write-off and customer returns.
- Create Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reporting and improvement targets across all units.
- Ensure successful Kaizens from one plant are evaluated for horizontal deployment to other plants.
- Validate financial, quality, food-safety and productivity benefits and verify sustainability after implementation.

7. QUALITY CAPABILITY, TRAINING & SUCCESSION DEVELOPMENT

Weightage: 10%

- Own capability development for Plant Quality Managers, QA/QC teams, food-safety members and laboratory personnel across all six units.
- Create role-wise competency and skill matrices covering HACCP, FSMS, auditing, FSSAI, RCA, CAPA, SPC, quality analytics, GMP/GHP, food safety, Kaizen and problem solving.
- Develop internal auditor capability and second-line succession for critical Quality roles.
- Ensure training effectiveness is measured through assessments and on-floor application.

8. NPD, CHANGE MANAGEMENT & QUALITY BY DESIGN

Weightage: 4%

- Ensure quality-risk review for every new SKU, recipe change, recent RM/PM, new supplier, new machine, new line and product transfer.
- Partner with R&D; and Operations on pre-commercial trials, specifications, legal compliance and launch-readiness.
- Ensure critical quality and food-safety risks are resolved before commercialization.

9. QUALITY CULTURE, STRATEGIC PROJECTS & CROSS-UNIT EXCELLENCE

Weightage: 10%

- Build a company-wide quality culture across all six manufacturing units rather than six independent QA departments.
