Role & responsibilities
1. Overall Project Management
- Take overall responsibility for successful execution and completion of assigned projects.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies in line with contractual requirements and Management objectives.
- Establish project targets for cost, schedule, quality, safety and productivity.
- Ensure effective coordination between all project departments and stakeholders.
- Monitor overall project performance and take corrective action wherever required.
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Review and approve detailed project execution plans and schedules.
- Establish project milestones and monitor progress against approved baseline schedules.
- Identify delays, critical activities and potential bottlenecks.
- Develop recovery plans for delayed activities.
- Ensure timely completion of projects as per contractual commitments.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with project teams and subcontractors.
1. Cost & Commercial Management
- Monitor project budgets, committed costs, actual expenditure and forecast costs.
- Ensure project execution remains within approved budget.
- Monitor project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Control wastage, material losses and unnecessary expenditure.
- Review subcontractor and vendor commercial performance.
- Coordinate with Finance and Commercial teams regarding project cash flow, billing and collections.
- Ensure timely submission and certification of RA bills and variation claims.
- Identify and protect JECAS's contractual and commercial interests.
1. Client & Consultant Management
- Act as the senior point of contact for major project-related matters.
- Maintain strong skilled relationships with clients, consultants, architects, PMC representatives and other stakeholders.
- Lead project review meetings with clients and consultants.
- Resolve execution-related issues and escalate critical matters to Management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client requirements.
- Support negotiations relating to variations, extensions of time, claims and commercial matters.
1. Subcontractor Management
- Evaluate and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Ensure subcontractors deploy adequate manpower, equipment and resources.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity and progress against agreed targets.
- Review subcontractor work quality and contractual compliance.
- Address delays, underperformance and resource shortages.
- Recommend corrective actions, recovery plans, replacement or termination of subcontractors where necessary.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of materials, manpower and work quantities issued to subcontractors.
1. Procurement & Material Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of project materials.
- Review material requirements against project schedules.
- Prevent excess procurement, material shortages and unnecessary inventory accumulation.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Ensure proper material reconciliation between site records, stores and project MIS.
- Coordinate with Procurement for critical and long-lead items.
1. Quality Management
- Ensure all project works comply with approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, method statements and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations and quality issues.
- Maintain project documentation and quality records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO and company procedures.
1. Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure strict compliance with JECAS HSE policies and statutory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Monitor safety performance, incidents, near misses and corrective actions.
- Ensure adequate PPE, safety systems and trained manpower.
- Coordinate with HSE teams for inspections and audits.
- Take immediate corrective action for unsafe practices.
1. Manpower & Resource Management
- Plan manpower requirements based on project schedules.
- Ensure adequate deployment of engineers, supervisors, skilled workers and support staff.
- Monitor manpower productivity.
- Identify manpower shortages and initiate corrective measures.
- Ensure effective utilization of plant, machinery and other resources.
- Develop and lead project management teams.
1. Project MIS & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely project MIS reporting.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly project reports.

- Submit comprehensive project performance reports to Management.
1. Risk Management
- Identify project risks at an early stage.
- Maintain a project risk register and mitigation plan.
- Monitor contractual, commercial, technical, manpower and execution risks.
- Develop contingency and recovery strategies.
- Escalate critical risks to Management without delay.
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead the complete project team and ensure accountability at every level.
- Establish clear responsibilities and performance targets.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Promote coordination between Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Finance, QA/QC, HSE and Site Operations.
- Develop the capabilities of project team members.
- Take appropriate corrective action for poor performance or non-compliance.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- Master's degree in Construction Management / Project Management / Engineering Management will be an advantage.
- 1520+ years of experience in construction, infrastructure, EPC or industrial projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior project-management / project-head / project-director position.
- Proven experience handling large-value projects with multiple subcontractors and teams.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, construction methodologies, contracts, cost control and commercial management.
- Strong understanding of BOQ, billing, variation, claims and project cost management.
- Experience in Primavera P6 / MS Project and project-management systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.
