Job Summary The Assistant Executive - Quality Control & Production Follow-up will be responsible for coordinating with outsourced manufacturing partners to ensure timely production, consistent product quality, and smooth supply execution. The role involves regular vendor visits, production monitoring, quality inspections, order tracking, and coordination with internal and vendor teams to identify and resolve production and quality issues.
The position requires strong follow-up, analytical, quality inspection, vendor coordination, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day production and quality activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Follow-up
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure production is completed as per the agreed plan and timeline.
- Monitor production progress from order placement through final production and dispatch.
- Follow up on production schedules, material availability, capacity, and pending orders.
- Identify production delays and bottlenecks and coordinate with vendors to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure prioritized production and supply for critical and urgent requirements.
- Track new articles from initial order placement through first production and first supply.
2. Quality Control & Inspection
- Conduct regular visits to outsourced manufacturing units and upper stitching units to monitor quality and production processes.
- Carry out in-process and finished-goods quality inspections at vendor locations.
- Ensure products are manufactured as per approved samples, specifications, quality standards, and technical requirements.
- Identify quality defects and coordinate with vendors for root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor recurring quality issues and work with vendors to prevent their recurrence.
- Ensure proper inspection records and quality reports are maintained.
3. Quality SOPs & Process Compliance
- Implement and monitor Quality SOPs, inspection procedures, and process standards at vendor units.
- Ensure vendors follow approved quality procedures and company guidelines.
- Support the development and implementation of quality checklists and inspection standards.
- Conduct process audits and identify opportunities for improving quality and production efficiency.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented within the agreed timeline.
4. Production Process Monitoring
- Monitor critical production stages and ensure adherence to approved processes and specifications.
- Check availability of required materials, components, moulds, tools, and production resources.
- Coordinate with vendors to address production-related technical and operational issues.
- Monitor production capacity and identify potential risks to planned supply.
- Support trials and initial production runs for new articles and new vendors.
5. Stock, Invoice & System Accuracy
- Develop and implement controls to minimize mismatches in stock, pricing, invoices, barcodes, and article details.
- Verify production and supply-related documentation before dispatch.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve system and transaction discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely updating of production and supply status.
6. Vendor Coordination & Support
- Maintain regular communication with vendors regarding production, quality, inspection, and supply requirements.
- Support vendors in resolving operational and system-related issues.
- Assist vendors in using the Vendor Portal and other supply chain systems.
- Escalate critical quality, production, and supply issues to the concerned internal teams and management.
7. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on production status, quality performance, pending orders, inspection results, and supply delays.
- Maintain vendor-wise production and quality performance records.
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure of quality and production issues.
- Provide regular updates to management on production risks, quality concerns, and supply readiness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree/Diploma in Footwear Technology, Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in Quality Control, Production Follow-up, Vendor Management, or Manufacturing Operations.
- Experience in footwear manufacturing or outsourced manufacturing will be preferred.
- Good understanding of production processes, quality inspection, and manufacturing standards.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems, and supply chain portals.
