About the Company The Health Factory is a rapid-growing Indian food brand redefining everyday staples through healthier alternatives such as zero-maida, high-protein, and clean-label bakery products. We operate across retail, D2C, e-commerce, and leading quick commerce platforms, with a mission to make healthy eating accessible, convenient, and scalable across urban India.
Role Overview We are looking for a highly analytical, agile, and detail-oriented Executive – Production Planning to join our Supply Chain team. Given the short shelf-life and high-velocity nature of our products, our planning cycle operates on a tight, & dynamic rolling window.
As the Production Planner, you will be the nerve centre of our operations—transforming volatile, real-time demand signals from quick-commerce and retail partners into precise, actionable production orders for multiple manufacturing plants. If you thrive in fast-paced environments where data meets real-time execution, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dynamic Demand Forecasting & Estimation
- Initial Benchmarking: Generate and roll out the initial supply estimates every evening to give the manufacturing plants a baseline visibility.
- Intraday Mid-Course Corrections: Closely monitor real-time, incoming Purchase Orders (POs)
- Predictive Adjustments: Formulate and release at least two revised rolling estimates throughout the day. You will use historical data, day-of-the-week trends, weather patterns, seasonality, and upcoming festivals to accurately predict the final order quantum.
2. Final Order Finalization & Plant Allocation
- Hard Cut-off Management: Reconcile all incoming POs exactly by the daily cut-off time.
- Plant-Wise Allocation: Convert the aggregated final order quantities into plant-specific production schedules based on individual plant capacities, geographical proximity, and SKU-wise efficiency.
- Order Dispatch:
Ensure the final error-free order matrices are shared with respective plant heads and production teams immediately after the cut-off to kickstart the night production shift.
3. Data Analytics & Process Improvement
- Maintain and update the master demand-forecasting models to improve accuracy and minimize stock-outs or dump/wastage.
- Post-facto analysis of forecasting vs. actual variance to identify patterns in quick-commerce (Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart) and modern trade behaviour.
Key Metrics for Success (KPIs)
- Forecast Accuracy: Minimizing variance between each estimate and the final PO quantum.
- Fill Rate / OTIF (On-Time In-Full): Ensuring plants receive exact data on time to maintain a >99%+ fill rate for all dispatches.
- Wastage/Dump Reduction: Balancing supply precisely to avoid overproduction of all SKUs.
Qualifications & Skills Required Experience & Education:
- Education: Graduate/Post-Graduate in Supply Chain, Operations, Statistics, Mathematics.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Demand Planning / Supply Planning within the FMCG, Dairy, Q-Commerce, or Commercial Bakery sectors (handling short shelf-life goods is highly preferred).
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Advanced Excel Skills: Must be highly proficient in data manipulation, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and building forecasting models. Knowledge of SQL or ERP systems (Odoo/Zoho) is an added advantage.
- Predictive Mindset: Strong understanding of how external factors (festivals, weekends, promotional events, seasonality) impact daily consumer buying patterns.
Behavioural Traits:
- Thrives Under Pressure: Ability to stay calm, focused, and mathematically accurate during the critical daily cut-off window.
- Excellent Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills to coordinate seamlessly between the Sales/Category teams and Plant Operations.
- High Availability: Comfort with a planning schedule that demands high availability.
