ROLE PURPOSE

RightWalk’s technology and AI products must translate policy and government workflows into accessible, scalable, multilingual and reliable tools for citizens, field teams, government users and institutional decision making.The Product Manager will own product discovery, roadmap, requirements, prioritisation, adoption metrics and feedback loops for products such as Chatur/CitizenAI and internal program tools. This is a government-technology product role, not a consumer product role. The PM must understand how government systems work, what PMU field teams need, and how technology can make the state's delivery more reliable — without becoming a dependency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Product strategy and roadmap

• Own the product roadmap across RightWalk's technology platforms — prioritise features based on PMU feedback, government requirements, and M&E; data needs.
- Prioritise features across citizen-facing, PMU-facing and government-facing use cases.
- Balance speed, usability, reliability, security and scale.

1. User research and requirements

• Conduct research with apprentices, parents, field staff, PMU teams, government officials and internal users.
- Translate user journeys and process maps into product requirements.
- Write clear PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria and rollout notes.

1. Cross-functional coordination

• Manage the product backlog and work closely with the Head of Engineering on sprint planning, quality assurance, and release management.




- Work with Policy to ensure product design reflects actual rules and workflows.
- Work with Data/M&E; to define adoption, usage and outcome metrics.
- Work with Programs to test, refine and scale product use in states.

1. Adoption and performance

• Drive adoption: ensure that platforms are actually used — by government officials, PMU staff, and GDN associates. Adoption metrics are owned by this role.
- Define and track success metrics for each platform — not just usage, but outcome impact.
- Coordinate with the Data/M&E; team to ensure platforms support data architecture needs — clean pipelines, structured inputs, and dashboard feeds.
- Manage government technology relationships: NIC coordination, portal integrations, state IT department liaison.
- Document product decisions, change logs, and user feedback systematically.
- Track product adoption, user drop-offs, escalation patterns and feedback loops.
- Work with PMU Tech/Adoption Officers to support rollout.
- Ensure product learnings inform SOPs, training and system redesign.

1. Responsible AI and data use

• Ensure AI tools are safe, explainable enough for users, and aligned with RightWalk’s ethical standards.
- Work with Tech and Data teams on privacy, consent, security and responsible use.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Experience: 5–9+ years in product management, preferably in GovTech, AI products, public service delivery, civic tech, WhatsApp/chatbot products or low-bandwidth user environments..
- Govt literacy: Strong understanding of government workflows — knows how a collector's office or a district education office actually functions.
- Documentation: Ability to write transparent, structured PRDs (Product Requirements Documents) and user stories.
- Thinking: Data-informed product thinking — uses metrics, not intuition, to prioritise.
- Collaboration: Excellent cross-functional collaborator — can work with engineers, field teams, and government officials in the same week.
- AI: Familiarity with AI/ML product considerations is a strong plus — given RightWalk's Chatur AI and EPInc AI platforms.
