Designation: Presales Engineer – Network

Department: Presales / Technical Sales

Location: Navi Mumbai / Mumbai Employment Type: Full-time Reporting To: Technical Head

Job Purpose The Presales Engineer – Network will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing suitable network solutions, preparing technical proposals and BoQs, supporting the sales team during customer discussions, and ensuring a smooth transition from presales to project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Understanding

Understand customer business and technical requirements. Conduct technical discussions with customers and sales teams.

Analyse existing network infrastructure and identify gaps.

Prepare requirement documents, solution notes and technical questionnaires.

Participate in customer meetings, site surveys and technical presentations.

1. Network Solution Design

Design and propose solutions covering:

LAN / WAN

Routing & Switching

Enterprise Wi-Fi

SD-WAN

Firewall & Network Security

Internet connectivity

VPN

Network monitoring

Load balancing

Data Center networking

NAC

Network redundancy and high availability

Experience with technologies/products from vendors such as Cisco, HPE Aruba, Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, Juniper, Versa, Ruckus or similar will be an advantage.

1. Presales Activities

Prepare BoQ, BoM, technical proposals and solution architecture. Select appropriate products based on customer requirements and budget.

Prepare technical comparison between different solutions.

Work with distributors/OEMs for product specifications, sizing and pricing.

Prepare RFP/RFQ responses and compliance sheets.

Support sales teams in preparing commercial proposals.

Conduct product demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC).

Support negotiation by providing technical justification and solution alternatives.

Network topology diagrams

Implementation assumptions and prerequisites

1. Customer & Sales Support

Act as the technical SPOC during presales engagements. Attend customer meetings along with sales representatives.

Present proposed solutions to technical and management teams.

Understand objections and provide technically appropriate alternatives.

Help sales identify opportunities for upselling/cross-selling.

Maintain technical details and opportunities in CRM.

1. Project Handover

Conduct detailed technical handover to the implementation team after order confirmation. Ensure the final solution matches the approved proposal and BoQ.

Clearly document assumptions, dependencies, licenses and implementation requirements.

Support the implementation team during the initial stage where required.

CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco or equivalent certifications will be an advantage.
