Job Summary
Assist the Consultant Cardiologist in OPD and IPD patient care. Take and document patient history, presenting complaints and relevant clinical information. Assist in preliminary patient assessment and record vital signs.
Review and maintain patient medical records and investigation reports. Assist the cardiologist during clinical examinations and procedures as directed. Coordinate and assist with cardiac investigations such as ECG, TMT, Echocardiography and Holter monitoring, as applicable.
Assist in preparation and documentation of clinical notes, progress notes and treatment plans as instructed by the consultant. Coordinate with Nursing, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Pharmacy and other departments for patient care. Assist in coordinating pre-procedure and post-procedure care as per the cardiologists instructions.
Follow up on investigation reports and ensure they are available for consultant review. Assist in preparing discharge summaries, prescriptions and follow-up instructions as directed by the consultant. Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up consultations.
Provide patients and attendants with information regarding investigations, appointments and follow-up, within the scope of the role. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the HIS/EMR. Ensure patient records are complete and updated.
Assist in maintaining cardiology-related registers, reports and records. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient medical information. Follow hospital policies, infection-control practices and patient-safety standards.
Escalate any abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to the Consultant Cardiologist/Nursing team immediately.
Perform other clinical and administrative duties assigned by the Consultant Cardiologist/HOD.

Qualifications
- B.Sc. / BPT / B.Sc.
Cardiac Care
Technology / Bachelor s degree in Physician Assistant or relevant healthcare qualification. Additional qualification in Cardiac Care / Cardiology will be an advantage.
Experience
- 1 3 years of relevant experience in Cardiology preferred.
Experience in a hospital/cardiology department will be an advantage. Candidates with relevant clinical internship experience may also be considered.
