Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Sterling Hospital, Gandhidham. The Pharmacist will dispense medications accurately, verify prescriptions, and provide clear counseling to patients and caregivers on proper use, side effects, and storage.
The role includes reviewing medication orders for interactions and contraindications, supporting doctors and nurses with drug information, and helping maintain formulary and stock levels. The Pharmacist will ensure strict adherence to hospital policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and infection-control practices within the pharmacy.
Daily responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, participating in audits and quality initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement in medication safety and patient experience.
Qualifications
- Professional pharmacy qualification (B.Pharm or D.Pharm; M.Pharm preferred) and valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including prescription verification, drug interaction checks, dosage calculations, and patient counseling.
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, formulary management, stock control, and handling of emergency and high-alert medications.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, NABH/NABL standards, medication safety protocols, and proper documentation practices.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and pharmacy management software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical workplace with rotating shifts if required.
- Prior experience in a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital is an advantage; willingness to participate in ongoing training and continuous professional development.
