Position Title: PGT Physical Education /n Reporting To: Head of School /n /n Role Overview /n PGT Physical Education is responsible for leading, planning, and delivering a high-quality Physical and Health Education programme aligned with the CBSE philosophy. The role involves academic leadership, curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, student development, and promotion of lifelong fitness, well-being, and sportsmanship. /n /n Key Responsibilities /n Academic & Curriculum Leadership /n /n

- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the CBSE Physical Education curriculum

- Ensure curriculum alignment with CBSE standards, learner profile, and ATL skills.

/n

- Develop age-appropriate units of inquiry integrating health, fitness, movement, and sports education.

/n

- Incorporate inclusive practices and differentiated instruction for diverse learners.

/n /n Department Management /n /n

- Head and manage the Physical Education department, including lesson planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

/n

- Mentor, guide, and evaluate PE teachers through observations and feedback.

/n

- Conduct department meetings and support continuous career development.

/n

- Prepare and manage the departmental budget, equipment, and facilities.

- Deliver engaging, safe,



and effective PE lessons as per IB philosophy.

- Promote inquiry-based learning and student-led activities.

/n

- Integrate technology and assessment tools to track student progress.

/n

- Ensure student safety, risk assessments, and proper use of sports facilities.

/n /n Student Development & Well-being /n /n

- Promote physical fitness, mental well-being, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

/n

- Identify and support students with special educational needs in collaboration with support teams.

/n

- Encourage participation in inter-school competitions, sports days, and fitness initiatives.

/n /n Assessment & Reporting /n /n

- Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria.

/n

- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

/n

- Prepare reports and contribute to parent-teacher meetings and conferences.

/n /n Co-curricular & Sports Programmes /n /n

- Plan and oversee sports events, tournaments, athletics meets, and school sports calendars.

/n

- Coordinate house systems, clubs, and after-school sports programmes.

/n

- Build partnerships with coaches, sports organizations, and external trainers.
