National Dispatch Coordinator – Canada

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and organized National Dispatch Coordinator to oversee and coordinate delivery dispatch operations across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring daily dispatch activities, coordinating with Owner-Operators (OOs), ensuring shipments are assigned and delivered on time, and resolving operational issues as they arise.

This role requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills, along with a good understanding of Canadian transportation and delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily dispatch operations across multiple provinces and territories in Canada.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, Owner-Operators, brokers, and fleet partners.
- Monitor assigned shipments and ensure pickups and deliveries are completed within required timelines.
- Ensure drivers and vehicles are appropriately assigned to available routes and shipments.
- Monitor driver and shipment status throughout the delivery process.
- Follow up on delayed, missed, or failed pickups and deliveries.
- Handle operational issues and coordinate appropriate solutions quickly.
- Communicate shipment updates, delays, and exceptions to the relevant teams.
- Ensure proof of delivery (POD) and other required delivery information is collected and recorded.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, shipment information, and driver availability.




- Coordinate replacement drivers or vehicles when required.
- Monitor overall dispatch performance and identify operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure dispatch procedures and customer requirements are being followed consistently across Canada.
- Escalate major operational, customer, safety, or compliance issues to management.
- Support the development and improvement of dispatch processes and procedures.

Requirements

- 6 months to 1.5 years of dispatching experience
- Ability to be available 6 or sometimes 7 days a week
- Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, courier, freight, or last-mile delivery operations.
- Experience working with Owner-Operators, drivers, brokers, or fleet operators is preferred.
- Good understanding of Canadian geography, provinces, cities, and major transportation routes.
- Solid verbal and written English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, drivers, and issues simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with GPS, dispatch, transportation management, or tracking systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Working Hours The role will support Canadian operations, and working hours may need to accommodate different Canadian time zones and operational requirements.
