We are seeking a Middleware Administrator with 9+ years of hands-on experience in managing, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise middleware platforms with a primary focus on Oracle WebLogic Server. This role involves configuring high-availability multi-node clusters, driving JVM performance tuning, executing mission-critical application deployments, automating operational workflows, and ensuring enterprise-grade stability across production and non-production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture &
- Administration:
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and manage multi-node Oracle WebLogic Server (11g/12c/14c) clusters across distributed environments.
- High Availability &
- Security:
Set up and maintain clustering, node managers, SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, keystores, authentication providers, and security realms.
- Performance Tuning &
- Optimization:
Perform end-to-end JVM tuning (heap memory sizing, GC policies), thread pool configuration, and JDBC/JMS resource optimization.
- Troubleshooting &
- Diagnostics:
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) by evaluating thread dumps, heap dumps, garbage collection logs, and application server diagnostics to fix latency, crashes, and memory leaks.
- Deployments &
- Releases:
Oversee deployments of EAR/WAR/JAR artifacts, handle data-source updates, and manage staged/rolling production releases.
- Automation: Write and maintain operational automation scripts using WLST (Jython), Shell/Bash, and Python for domain creation, configuration changes, and health checks.
- Integration &
- Web Tier:
Administer integrations with web servers (Oracle HTTP Server - OHS, Apache HTTP Server), load balancers (F5/ALB), and backend databases (Oracle RAC, SQL Server).
- DR &
- Compliance:
Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, maintain backup/restoration processes, and implement security hardening standards.
Required Skills &
- Qualifications
- Core Experience: Minimum 9 years of dedicated experience in enterprise middleware administration, centered on Oracle WebLogic Server.
- Web &
- Application Servers:
Robust expertise with Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), and Apache; familiarity with Tomcat or JBoss/WildFly.
- Operating Systems: Advanced administration skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, or CentOS (process monitoring, network diagnostic tools, resource limits).
- Scripting: Hands-on automation experience with WLST, Shell scripting, and Python.
- Messaging &
- Data Layer:
Deep understanding of JMS (distributed queues/topics, error destinations) and JDBC multi-data sources.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle WebLogic Server Administration certification.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and configuration management (Ansible).
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and Cloud platforms (OCI/AWS).
- Experience supporting high-throughput transaction systems (Banking, BFSI, or Telecom sectors).
