About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Millwork Drafter/Engineer to join the Design Department. This role requires a strong combination of AutoCAD drafting and Cabinet Vision engineering skills, with the ability to move seamlessly between drafting and engineering based on project requirements.

- The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate AutoCAD submittal drawings for client review, approvals, and field dimensions, while also engineering completed projects in Cabinet Vision for release to CNC manufacturing equipment.
- This is not a general CAD or general manufacturing position. Direct experience in the architectural millwork, casework, or custom cabinetry industry is required.

Requirements

- 4–5 years of professional AutoCAD experience specifically involving architectural millwork submittals, shop drawings, or related millwork drafting.
- 3+ years of hands-on Cabinet Vision experience in a custom millwork, architectural millwork, or cabinet manufacturing workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both AutoCAD drafting and Cabinet Vision engineering.
- Strong experience working with established Cabinet Vision standards and parametric libraries.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, elevations, sections, and details.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and CNC-based manufacturing workflows.
- Strong understanding of woodworking construction methods, materials, hardware, and fabrication processes.




- Strong computer and technical skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high-quality drawings and engineering output.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed AutoCAD shop and submittal drawings for architectural millwork, casework, and custom cabinetry projects.
- Prepare drawings for client submittals, approvals, revisions, and field dimensions.
- Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate interpretation of design requirements.
- Engineer millwork projects using Cabinet Vision for production and CNC manufacturing.
- Develop accurate Cabinet Vision models based on approved drawings and project specifications.
- Work within established Cabinet Vision standards, templates, and parametric libraries.
- Translate approved designs into production-ready engineering files for CNC equipment.
- Coordinate drafting and engineering requirements to ensure consistency between AutoCAD drawings and Cabinet Vision models.
- Review designs for constructability, functionality, dimensions, materials, hardware, and manufacturing requirements.
- Apply knowledge of woodworking construction methods, joinery, materials, and hardware to develop practical and manufacturable designs.
- Identify and resolve drafting or engineering issues before projects are released to production.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, production teams, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Make revisions based on client comments, field dimensions, project changes, and internal review.
- Support CNC manufacturing workflows by ensuring engineering files and production information are accurate and complete.
- Maintain drawing and engineering quality while meeting project deadlines and production schedules.
- Adapt to evolving processes, standards, and software within the Design Department.
