Configure and manage user identities and access using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions. We are seeking a skilled Microsoft 365 Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments to support our organization's digital workplace strategy.
Candidate will use Microsoft Defender XDR to look at security alerts, figure out if an attack is happening, and stop hackers before they can do any damage. You will also work on making the company's overall security stronger so future attacks cannot get through. This role requires proficiency in configuring, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft 365 applications and services to enhance productivity and collaboration across our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other M365 applications.
- Implement and configure Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online for email management and collaboration, SharePoint Online for document management and sharing, and Teams for communication and collaboration.
- Configure and manage user identities and access using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
- Monitor Alerts: Watch the Microsoft Defender portal for warnings about strange behavior on computers, emails, and networks.
- Investigate Attacks: Look deep into security incidents to figure out how a hacker got in and what they tried to steal.
- Stop Threats: Act quickly to lock out hacked user accounts, isolate infected computers, and delete malicious emails.
- Threat Hunting: Write custom search codes using Kusto Query Language (KQL) to hunt for hidden cyber dangers that haven't triggered an alert yet.
- Fix Weaknesses:
Use tools inside the portal to find outdated software or weak settings and fix them before hackers find them.
- Use AI Tools: Work with advanced AI helpers like Microsoft Security Copilot to quickly understand tricky hacker scripts and write summary reports.
Required Skills and Tools
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Administrator and Microsoft Security Engineer.
- Strong understanding of Office 365 security and compliance features.
- Core Platform: Deep knowledge of the Microsoft Defender XDR suite, including Defender for Endpoint (computers), Defender for Office 365 (emails), Defender for Identity, and Defender for Cloud Apps.
- Languages: Valuable skills with Kusto Query Language (KQL) for searching through security data.
- Cloud Security: Understanding of cloud systems like Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for controlling user access.
- SIEM Tools: Experience connecting Defender to larger monitoring systems like Microsoft Sentinel.
- Problem Solving: Ability to think like a detective to solve tricky digital puzzles during a stressful cyberattack.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) The primary certification for this specific job profile.
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) Focuses on identity management and access control.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) Focuses on overall cloud infrastructure protections.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, or similar are preferred.
