ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Postcard Hotel is a collection of small luxury hotels built on a simple idea — slow, quiet, deeply personal travel. Our marketing has to feel the same way: restrained, beautiful and consistent, across every screen a guest sees us on.
We are looking for a Marketing Executive to run the day-to-day of that presence. Your core focus will be social media, content planning, copy, design and short-form video. You will also manage paid campaigns, email, WhatsApp and performance reporting as part of the role. It is a hands-on position with meaningful ownership from month one, working directly with the Marketing Manager.
This is a role for someone who is genuinely good with tools — Illustrator, Canva and a video editor — and who has taste. The quality of your portfolio matters more to us than the number of years on your résumé.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
1. Social media management
- Run the day-to-day of Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn for The Postcard Hotel — publishing, scheduling, community management and inbox response.
- Maintain a distinct voice per platform: Instagram and Facebook for guests and aspiration, LinkedIn for brand, people and trade, X for news and conversation.
- Reply to comments and DMs within agreed response times, and escalate guest complaints or service issues to the right team immediately.
- Track competitor and category activity — what other luxury and boutique hospitality brands are doing, and what is worth borrowing.
2. Content grids, calendars and copy
- Build and maintain a rolling monthly content grid across all properties and channels, mapped to occupancy needs, seasons, festivals and campaign moments.
- Write captions in the brand voice — short, warm, understated. No exclamation marks, no travel-blog clichés.
- Coordinate with property teams, chefs and photographers to source raw assets; maintain an organised, tagged asset library.
3. Reels and short-form video
- Edit and publish reels and short-form video.
- Edit in Premiere Pro, CapCut or equivalent: cutting to music, pacing, colour, text overlays, subtitles, and correct export specs for each platform.
- Adapt one shoot into multiple formats, reel, story, carousel, LinkedIn post.
- Stay on top of formats, audio trends and platform changes, and translate them into something that still looks like us.
4. Design: Illustrator and Canva
- Design social creative, carousels, story templates, emailers, offer collateral and in-property material to a high standard.
- Adobe Illustrator: high proficiency expected, vector work, layout, typography, logo and asset handling, print-ready and digital export.
- Canva: high proficiency expected, building and maintaining brand templates so the wider team can self-serve without breaking the brand.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom for image retouching and colour consistency is a robust plus.
- Own brand consistency: fonts, colour, spacing, tone of imagery, across everything that goes out.
5. Meta Ads and paid social
- Build, launch and manage campaigns in Meta Ads Manager — audiences, placements, budgets, creative sets and A/B tests.
- Run always-on retargeting and seasonal or property-specific campaigns, within the strategy and budget set with the Marketing Manager.
- Produce the creative variants that campaigns need — static, carousel and video — rather than waiting on an agency.
- Monitor spend daily, flag underperformance early, and report on CTR, CPC, CPM, ROAS, reach and cost per lead or booking.
- Familiarity with Meta Pixel, Business Manager, catalogues and Google Ads is an advantage.
6. Email and WhatsApp — B2C and B2B
- Design, write, build and deploy emailers for two distinct audiences: past and prospective guests (B2C) and travel trade, corporates and partners (B2B).
- Manage list segmentation and hygiene, subject-line and send-time testing, and reporting on open, click and conversion rates.
- Run WhatsApp Business broadcasts and guest lifecycle journeys — pre-arrival, in-stay, post-stay and win-back — within opt-in and compliance rules.
- Keep both channels aligned with what is running on social and paid, so the guest sees one consistent message.
7. Analytics and reporting
- Prepare reliable weekly and monthly performance reports covering organic social, paid, email and WhatsApp.
- Work in Meta Business Suite, native platform insights and Google Analytics; present findings as a clear recommendation, not a data dump.
- Maintain a simple record of what has been tested and what was learned, so the same experiment is not run twice.
