Designation ; - Manager- Engineering Procurement (API)

Work Location;;;; - Nanjangud, Mysore

Role Purpose:

To lead engineering sourcing and procurement for Jubilant Biosys API and CDMO manufacturing operations, ensuring timely availability of process equipment, utilities and engineering services to support plant operations, maintenance, ongoing capex expansion projects including R and D projects and maintenance while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Procurement - API and CDMO Operations

- Manage procurement of critical engineering equipment such as:
- Reactors, ANFD, centrifuges, dryers, filtration systems
- Utility systems (Boilers, HVAC, Chillers, ETP/STP, solvent recovery systems)
- Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation (MEP) items

- Handle both capex and engineering procurement and MRO (maintenance) sourcing for API plants.

2. Capex / Project Procurement / Opex procurement

- Work closely with Engineering and Projects team for ongoing capacity expansion and plant modifications.
- Ensure on-time procurement aligned with project schedules.




- Track PR to PO cycle and delivery to meet timelines without impacting project timelines. Expedite critical items on priority basis to speed up completion of project
- Opex items related to QC, R and D and production requirements

3. Vendor Development and Management

- Identify and develop reliable vendors for engineering categories.
- Drive vendor qualification in line with GMP, EHS, and QA requirements.
- Build strong vendor base across Karnataka and pan-India for API equipment.

4. Cost Optimization and Commercial Excellence

- Lead techno-commercial negotiations for cost savings and value engineering.
- Run RFQs, comparisons, and finalize cost-effective sourcing solutions.
- Drive year-on-year cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.

5. Compliance and Audit Readiness

- Ensure procurement processes comply with:
- cGMP requirements
- Jubilant procurement policies
- EHS and statutory norms

- Maintain complete documentation for audits (internal / regulatory / customer).

6. Cross-functional Coordination

- Partner with:
- Engineering and Maintenance teams
- QA/QC for vendor approvals
- Finance for budgeting and payment tracking

- Provide management updates on procurement status, risks, and savings.

Key Requirements:

Education:

- B.E./B.Tech - Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical Engineering
- MBA (Supply Chain/Operations) - Preferred

Experience:

- 12+ years in procurement / sourcing
- Minimum 5+ years in API / Pharma / Chemical manufacturing setup
- Strong experience in engineering procurement and project sourcing

Key Skills:

- Solid understanding of API plant equipment and utilities
- Vendor development and contract management
- Negotiation and cost control expertise
- Knowledge of GMP / regulatory compliance
