Position Overview We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer III to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining sophisticated software applications that meet our customers evolving needs. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle, from architecture design and code development to quality assurance and deployment.

Responsibilities

- Customer Engagement &

Requirements Analysis: Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements. Advocate for user-centric software solutions and demonstrate empathy in understanding business needs.

- Complex Problem Solving: Design, develop, and deliver solutions using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (such as Agile), and technologies. Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative approaches.

- Technology Stack Assessment: Evaluate and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration methods, and deployment strategies for software applications and services.

- Software Architecture Design: Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, interfaces, and interactions of applications.

- Mainframe Development: Design, develop, and maintain mainframe solutions using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and IMS. Manage source code and job scheduling using ENDEVOR and CA7.

- Cloud Data Solutions: Build, optimize, and maintain BigQuery datasets, tables, views, queries, and stored procedures for large-scale data processing. Develop and maintain BigQuery Stored Procedures for complex business logic, data transformation, and automated workflows.

- Data Migration &
- Integration: Migrate and integrate mainframe data with GCP cloud services, ensuring data integrity and seamless connectivity.

- Technical Design &

- Documentation: Develop detailed technical designs from functional specifications. Perform thorough impact analysis for functional and technical design changes.

- Quality Assurance &

- Testing: Define and implement software test strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes in line with organizational vision, industry regulations, and market best practices.



Develop and execute unit test and integration plans to validate changes against technical specifications.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with product owners, designers, architects, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.

- Performance Optimization: Continuously improve application performance and optimize code.

Optimize

BigQuery queries, schemas, and stored procedures for performance and cost efficiency.

- Security &

- Data Protection: Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization. Implement data quality checks and validation frameworks in GCP/BigQuery.

- User Interface Development: Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces that enhance user experience.

- Back-End Development: Develop and maintain back-end applications such as APIs and microservices using server-side languages.

- Incident Management &

- Support: Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe incidents and business support items in a timely manner. Provide technical support to ensure business continuity.

- Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver creative solutions. Monitor and participate in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration.

- Development Best Practices: Demonstrate proficiency in programming practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

- Data Accessibility: Support data availability and accessibility for analytics and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- Experience Level: Engineer 3 level with 6+ years of IT experience and 4+ years of software development experience

- Programming Expertise: Practical experience in 2 coding languages OR advanced proficiency in 1 language

- Mainframe Systems: Demonstrated expertise in mainframe technologies including: COBOL programming

- Software Development Lifecycle: Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment
