Litigation & Compliance Executive

About the Role
CP Group India is looking for a competent and proactive Litigation & Compliance professional to join its in-house Legal team. The role will be responsible for supporting and managing litigation matters, legal compliance, statutory requirements, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel across the organization.
This is an in-house corporate legal role based at our Redhills, Chennai location.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Management
- Handle and coordinate civil, criminal, commercial, labour, consumer, and other legal matters concerning the organization.
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal counsels for ongoing and recent litigation matters.
- Prepare, review, and maintain litigation-related documents, notices, replies, affidavits, petitions, and other legal documentation.
- Attend courts, tribunals, government offices, and other authorities whenever required.
- Maintain an updated tracker of all litigation cases, hearing dates, case status, legal expenses, and critical developments.
- Provide timely updates to management and relevant internal stakeholders on litigation matters and potential legal risks.
- Assist in developing strategies for dispute resolution, settlement, and effective management of legal cases.
Compliance Management
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licenses, registrations, and statutory requirements relevant to CP Group India's business operations.
- Maintain a comprehensive legal and compliance calendar to track due dates, renewals, filings, and statutory obligations.
- Coordinate with various internal departments to collect information and ensure timely completion of compliance requirements.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Identify potential compliance gaps and legal risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to legal and compliance matters.
- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other external agencies as required.
Candidate Profile
- LL.B. qualification is mandatory.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Litigation, Legal Compliance, Corporate Legal, or a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
- Experience in handling litigation matters and coordinating with external advocates and legal counsels.
- Good understanding of Indian corporate laws, labour laws, commercial laws, and general statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong drafting, legal research, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple legal matters and prioritize work effectively.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English and Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with prior in-house corporate legal experience will be preferred.
