Experience: 8 to 15 Years.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and administer Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) using IPI and UPI deployment methodologies in connected and disconnected environments.
- Manage OpenShift cluster infrastructure to ensure stability, scalability, high availability, and operational excellence.
- Perform cluster administration activities, including health monitoring, capacity management, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor cluster performance using OpenShift Console, Prometheus, Grafana, logging tools, and CLI diagnostics.
- Manage master and worker nodes, lifecycle management, provisioning, onboarding, scaling, patching, and maintenance.
- Implement GitOps-based deployment strategies using ArgoCD, including Application Sets and multi-cluster deployments.
- Automate OpenShift and VM provisioning using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to support onboarding, platform modernization, and operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, operational documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
Required Technical Skills
Linux & OpenShift Administration
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- Experience with OpenShift deployment, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of Operators, CRDs, Machine Sets, and MachineConfig.
- Experience supporting air-gapped/disconnected OpenShift environments.
Security & Compliance
- RHACS (Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes).
- Security hardening, governance, compliance, and vulnerability management.
- Container and Virtual Machine security.
- RBAC, SCC, service accounts, quotas, and access management.
Storage & Networking
- PV, PVC, Storage Classes, CSI-based storage.
- OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF).
- Ceph fundamentals.
- DNS, Routes, Load Balancers, Ingress Controllers, and cluster networking.
Automation & DevOps
- Strong Ansible automation experience.
- Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code knowledge preferred.
- CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Automated provisioning and configuration management.
Multi-Cluster & Hybrid Cloud
- RHACM (Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management).
- Multi-cluster governance and policy management.
- Centralized cluster lifecycle management.
- Hybrid OpenShift architecture.
- Azure Cloud Architecture.
- Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO).
AI & Observability
- AI-driven observability and AIOps event management.
- Experience with Python APIs, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
- Exposure to Kubeflow, MLflow, Docker, and Linux Foundation AI ecosystem tools.
OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt)
- Solid hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt.
- Design and implement VM-based workloads on OpenShift.
- Working knowledge of Virtual Machine, Virtual Machine Instance, Data Volume, and CDI.
- VM provisioning, administration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- VM templates, cloning, snapshots, and backup strategies.
- VM live migration and workload placement.
- CPU, memory, and storage resource optimization.
- High availability and resiliency planning for virtualized workloads.
- Troubleshoot VM networking, storage, and performance-related issues.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient OpenShift platforms.
- Multi-cluster application and VM deployment strategies.
- Platform governance and enterprise-scale OpenShift architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
