Market Operations is globally responsible for the stability and daily IT operations for all financial trading applications for BGC Partners and associated entities.
This Senior L2 role focuses on electronic trading platforms for FMX U.S. Treasuries (UST), TIPS, Repos, FX, Non-Deliverable Forwards (NDF), and FMX Futures Exchange platforms, as well as other BGC Partners electronic and hybrid trading platforms. The role also supports IT Service Management activities including Incident, Problem, and Change Management, along with associated governance routines The environment is fast‑paced and dynamic, requiring excellent judgment, strong ownership, and an ability to work calmly under pressure.
You will bring solid technical expertise, strong platform knowledge, and the ability to engage confidently with both business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve production issues quickly and engage additional resources when needed to restore service.
- Prioritize issues effectively based on business impact and urgency.
- Monitor trading platform components across all asset classes and contribute to improving the efficiency of monitoring tools.
- Support and maintain both Production and UAT environments.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with users onsite and remotely.
- Document system components, processes, and future enhancements.
- Work closely with Development teams to ensure smooth handover of new systems and releases to Support.
- Provide clear updates on outages and incidents to the business.
- Support regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Identify operational risks and help close any gaps.
- Ensure team members receive required training.
- Qualifications
- 8+ years of application support experience on Linux servers
- Good knowledge of FIX protocol
- Network troubleshooting and protocol knowledge
- Basic Python or any automation exposure (desirable)
- Any experience capturing packets and any server performance tuning is useful but not mandatory.
- Strong appetite for learning new technologies and tools.
- Any knowledge of FX, US Treasuries, or Futures markets is useful.
- Foundational trading concepts (bid/ask, spread, order flow, market data)
- Strong customer‑service mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Robust incident, problem, and documentation skills
