Job Purpose: The Junior Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory safety requirements and promoting a protected working environment across the plant. The role involves active participation in safety audits, inspections, and training programs to minimize risks and ensure adherence to the company s health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor workplace safety policies and procedures in compliance with statutory regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across all departments and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures to reduce workplace incidents.
- Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases, and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, records, and registers as per the Factory Act and other applicable laws.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Organize and participate in safety training sessions,
toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contract workers.
- Support the Fire Safety system maintenance and ensure readiness of firefighting equipment.
- Assist in statutory compliance audits conducted by government authorities and external agencies.
- Promote a safety-first culture within the organization by encouraging reporting and proactive risk identification.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of safety laws, Factory Act, and industrial safety standards.
- Hands-on experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
- Good documentation and report-preparation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
