WE’RE HIRING | JUNIOR MERCHANDISERPrewal Studio Private Limited is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and highly organized Junior Merchandiser to join our merchandising team.
The candidate will work closely with our Senior Merchandiser and coordinate across design, product development, sourcing, sampling, production, quality and finishing teams to ensure smooth execution of styles from initial development through final shipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Senior Merchandiser in handling buyer accounts, product development and production follow-ups.
- Coordinate the complete merchandising process from buyer enquiry / tech pack to sampling, approvals, production and shipment.
- Prepare and regularly update Time & Action (T&A;) calendars, ensuring all critical deadlines are followed.
- Coordinate with design, sampling, pattern, sourcing, embroidery, production, finishing and QA teams for timely execution of styles.
- Follow up on development samples, fit samples, PP samples, size sets, TOP samples and other buyer-required submissions.
- Maintain accurate records of buyer comments, approvals, sample status and style-wise developments.
- Assist in sourcing and follow-up of fabrics, trims, embellishments, accessories and packaging materials.
- Track fabric and trim approvals and ensure materials are available according to production timelines.
- Understand and maintain tech packs, BOMs, measurement sheets, style details and buyer specifications.
- Communicate internally on buyer comments and ensure that all relevant departments clearly understand the required changes.
- Support the Senior Merchandiser in buyer communication, order follow-ups, status updates and documentation.
- Monitor styles during production and proactively highlight delays, discrepancies or potential execution issues.
- Coordinate closely with the Quality and Production teams to ensure garments meet buyer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain organized style files, development records,
approvals, purchase details and production status reports.
- Support shipment coordination and ensure required documentation, approvals and final checks are completed within timelines.
- Take ownership of assigned styles and ensure continuous follow-up until their successful completion.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 1–3 years of experience in garment export merchandising, preferably in a fashion export house.
- Qualification in Fashion Management, Apparel Production, Fashion Design, Textile Design, Garment Manufacturing or a related field.
- Valuable understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, embroidery and production processes.
- Experience working with women’s fashion / high-fashion / embellished garments will be highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sampling and production merchandising processes.
- Positive written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable working with Excel, email, T&A; sheets and merchandising documentation.
- Strong follow-up ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and manage several styles simultaneously.
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and accountability.
THE ROLEThis is not simply a follow-up or data-entry merchandising position. We are looking for someone who wants to develop into a strong end-to-end fashion merchandiser, understand the complete lifecycle of a garment, and gradually take independent responsibility for styles and buyer accounts. The selected candidate will work closely with an experienced Senior Merchandiser and gain exposure to international buyers, high-fashion product development, complex embellishment techniques and export production.
