Job Title: Industrial Engineer / Senior Industrial Engineer Department: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Manager Role Type: Individual Contributor with strong cross-functional influence Industry Context: Defence, Aerospace, Strategic Products, High-Reliability Manufacturing SECTION 2 Objective of the Job Role The objective of the Industrial Engineer / Senior Industrial Engineer role is to design, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing systems to achieve maximum productivity, cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance in a regulated aerospace and defence manufacturing environment.

The role ensures

- Optimal utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and methods • Readiness for rate increases, NPI industrialization, and program ramp-ups • Deployment of Lean, data-driven, and digital industrial engineering practices • Alignment of manufacturing performance with program, quality, and compliance requirements SECTION 3 – Key Responsibilities 1.

Process

Engineering &
- Productivity Improvement • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities • Conduct time studies, motion studies, method studies, and ergonomics assessments • Establish standard work, takt times, cycle times, and labor standards • Drive cycle time reduction, throughput improvement, and waste elimination 2.

Capacity

Planning &
- Line Balancing • Perform detailed capacity analysis for manpower, machines, tooling, and fixtures • Develop and maintain line balancing models for fabrication and assembly lines • Support rate readiness reviews, ramp-up planning, and volume scaling • Validate shift planning, manpower loading, and bottleneck analysis 3.

Design &
- Material Flow Optimization Page 1 of 5 • Design and optimize shop-floor layouts considering safety, ergonomics, flow, and compliance • Improve material flow, point-of-use storage, kitting, and logistics efficiency • Support new line setup, line relocation, factory expansion, and industrialization projects 4. Cost Engineering &
- Performance Analysis • Establish labor cost models, productivity baselines, and efficiency metrics • Track and analyze KPIs such as OEE, utilization, productivity, efficiency, and labor variance • Support should-costing, make-buy decisions,



and program cost reviews • Provide data-backed insights for leadership and program reviews 5. Lean Manufacturing &
- Continuous Improvement • Lead and facilitate Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives • Apply tools such as VSM, 5S, SMED, PFMEA, SPC, A3, and RCA • Embed a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor 6. Digital &
- Data Enablement • Use ERP / MES systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) for planning and analysis • Develop dashboards using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools • Support digital industrial engineering initiatives such as: o Simulation o Digital twins o AI-assisted planning (where applicable) 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling, Supply Chain, Programs, and NPI teams • Support NPI and industrialization from design freeze to steady-state production • Ensure compliance with AS9100, defence QA, safety, and regulatory standards SECTION 4 – Competencies Required Core Competencies • Industrial &
