Payroll & Statutory Audit Support Executive

Position Title :Payroll & Statutory Audit Support Executive

Department :Human Resources / Payroll & Compliance

Reports To :HR / Payroll & Statutory Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Audit Support

- Provide end-to-end support for all payroll and statutory-related audits.
- Coordinate with auditors and internal stakeholders for audit requirements and information.
- Prepare and provide required payroll, statutory, employee, and compliance-related documents.
- Ensure timely submission of audit data, reports, statements, and supporting documents.
- Maintain proper records of audit requests, documents submitted, observations, and closures.
- Track audit queries and ensure timely responses in coordination with the relevant teams.
- Support auditors during fieldwork, document verification, and clarification requirements.
- Assist in identifying gaps, discrepancies, and potential compliance risks.

2. Payroll Audit Support

- Provide payroll-related data and supporting documents for audit verification.
- Support verification of payroll inputs, salary processing, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll components.
- Assist in reconciliation of payroll data with HR records, attendance, finance records, and statutory records.
- Support audit requirements relating to employee master data, payroll reports, salary registers, and related documentation.
- Investigate and coordinate resolution of payroll-related audit queries and discrepancies.

3. Statutory & Compliance Audit Support





- Support audits relating to applicable labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Provide statutory registers, challans, returns, payment records, employee data, and other compliance documents as required.
- Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for statutory audit requirements.
- Assist in reconciliation of statutory payments and records.
- Track statutory audit observations and support timely closure of pending items.
- Maintain an organized repository of statutory and compliance documents for audit purposes.

4. Audit Documentation & MIS

- Maintain audit trackers and status reports for all ongoing audits.
- Prepare audit-related MIS and management reports.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit evidence for future reference.
- Monitor pending audit requirements and follow up with concerned stakeholders.
- Support preparation of responses and action plans for audit observations.

5. Coordination & Follow-up

- Coordinate effectively with HR, Payroll, Finance, Accounts, Legal, Operations, and external agencies wherever required.
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders to obtain information and documents within timelines.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of employee and payroll information.




- Support management in preparing information and reports for audit reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of payroll processes and statutory compliance.
- Understanding of labour laws and statutory requirements applicable to payroll/HR.
- Strong audit coordination and documentation skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and data reconciliation.
- Ability to analyze payroll and statutory data and identify discrepancies.
- Solid follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple audit requirements and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.

Qualification

- Masters degree in Human Resources.
- Additional qualification/certification in Payroll, HR, Labour Law, Compliance, or related areas will be an advantage.

Experience

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Payroll, HR Operations, Statutory Compliance, Audit Support, or HR Compliance.
- Experience in handling payroll/statutory audits and coordinating with auditors will be preferred.

- Timely submission of audit requirements.
- Accuracy and completeness of audit documentation.
- Timely response and closure of audit queries.
- Timely closure of audit observations.
- Accuracy of payroll/statutory reconciliations.
- Proper maintenance of audit and compliance records.
- Effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
