Key Responsibilities We Will Trust You With:
The Human Resources Specialist, Payroll & Benefits position is responsible for supporting all day-to-day HR operations for approximately 30+ employees within the company's India Center of Excellence (COE). This position serves as the primary local HR resource, managing payroll administration, employee benefits, HR compliance, employee support, onboarding, and recruitment coordination.
The India COE primarily consists of Finance & Accounting professionals and Tender/Proposal Engineering employees who support a multinational organization. The successful candidate will work independently with limited supervision while partnering closely with global HR, finance, payroll providers, benefits vendors, and business leaders to ensure an exceptional employee experience and compliance with local employment regulations.
Payroll Administration
- Administer and coordinate monthly payroll processing for India employees through external payroll providers.
- Review payroll inputs including new hires, employee changes, leave records, incentive payments, and statutory deductions.
- Validate payroll reports for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies before payroll submission.
- Partner with payroll vendors and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Support payroll audits, reporting requirements, and employee payroll inquiries.
- Maintain employee payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Benefits Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits programs.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, benefits brokers, and third-party vendors regarding enrollment, renewals, employee changes, and claims support.
- Administer employee benefits including medical insurance, life insurance, retirement programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Support annual benefits reviews and renewal activities.
- Educate employees on available benefit programs and resolve routine benefits-related questions.
- Monitor benefits utilization and provide data and recommendations to HR leadership.
Human Resources Operations
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including documentation, orientation, system access coordination, and exit processes.
- Prepare employment letters,
HR documents, and required employee communications.
- Support performance management, engagement initiatives, and employee relations activities.
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and workforce data analysis.
Talent Acquisition Support
- Support front-end recruitment activities for India-based positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
- Manage job postings through recruitment platforms and company systems.
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate assessments for selected positions.
- Coordinate offer documentation and pre-employment activities.
- Support onboarding activities for new hires to ensure a seamless employee experience.
Employee Support
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, HR policies, and employment matters.
- Build positive relationships with employees and managers across the India COE.
- Promote a skilled, customer-service-oriented HR experience.
- Escalate complex employee issues appropriately while maintaining confidentiality.
Other
- Support the global HR team in general HR projects, initiatives and general employee support.
- Provide general HR support to Middle East managers and employees as needed.
Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise that matter most for this role:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- HR certifications are considered an advantage.
Experience
- 5 plus years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Demonstrated experience administering payroll in India.
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers; ADP experience preferred but not required.
- Experience managing employee benefits programs and working with benefits brokers, insurance providers, and external vendors.
- Experience supporting HR operations in a multinational or matrixed organization preferred.
- Basic recruiting and talent acquisition coordination experience required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of India payroll practices, statutory compliance, PF, ESIC, gratuity, and applicable labor regulations.
- Knowledge of HR processes including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities,
and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP payroll systems.
- Experience supporting a Center of Excellence or shared services workplace.
- Exposure to global HR practices and collaboration with regional or corporate HR teams.
- Experience supporting professional services, finance, accounting, engineering, or technical employee populations.

- External Auditors and Compliance Partners as needed for payroll, benefits, and employment compliance reviews.
