HR Executive – People Operations & Recruitment

August Café | Mumbai The Role

At August Café, we are looking for an energetic and highly organized HR Executive to become the backbone of our people operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys recruitment, loves working with people, and thrives on bringing structure, accountability, and consistency to day-to-day HR operations.

You will play a key role in attracting talent, coordinating onboarding and exits, maintaining employee records, supporting payroll processes, and ensuring HR activities are executed in line with company systems and SOPs.

This is not a desk-bound HR role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, interacting with teams, and helping build a strong people culture across our cafés and

Central Kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Hiring

● Drive recruitment for café, kitchen, and support roles.

● Source candidates through job portals, referrals, hospitality institutes, and recruitment drives.

● Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate communication.

● Maintain an active recruitment tracker and candidate database.

● Support the company in reducing dependency on recruitment agencies.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

● Coordinate joining formalities and employee documentation.

● Ensure onboarding processes are completed as per company SOPs.

● Maintain employee records and personnel files.

● Coordinate employee exits and clearance processes.

Payroll & HR Operations

● Coordinate attendance, leave, and payroll inputs.

● Ensure employee records are accurate and up to date.

● Support payroll processing and compliance documentation.





● Coordinate with external HR auditors and payroll consultants.

Employee Engagement & HR Coordination

● Coordinate employee activities, celebrations, and communication initiatives.

● Support training and development activities.

● Act as a point of contact for routine employee queries.

● Ensure HR processes are executed consistently across locations.

Who You Are

Experience

● 2–5 years of experience in Recruitment, HR Operations, or People Administration.

● Hospitality, restaurant, retail, or service industry experience preferred.

Skills

● Robust recruitment and candidate sourcing ability.

● Excellent follow-up and coordination skills.

● Comfortable managing multiple positions simultaneously.

● Good working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.

● Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Mindset

● Highly organized and process-driven.

● Positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership.

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

● Willing to learn and build systems from the ground up.

● Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
