We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Receivable Finance.

Department Background: CIB / GTS Technology The Opportunity:

As the Head of Receivable Finance Technology (RF Tech) within Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) / Global Trade Solutions (GTS) Technology, you will lead the end-to-end technology strategy, IT product management, delivery, and production support for GTS Receivable Finance (RF), a sub value stream within Structured Trade.

Receivable Finance is a key growth area for GTS (c. USD 700m p.a. revenue) and is entering a 3-year transformation programme focused on technology modernisation and standardisation of RF products and operating model. This role will be accountable for defining and delivering the RF technology target state and roadmap, improving time-to-market, strengthening resilience and operational excellence, and enabling a consistent global product capability while accommodating required regional and country variations.

The role includes ownership of a significant technology portfolio and operating model, including an annual technology budget of USD 20m–25m, leadership of ~100 direct FTE, and end-to-end accountability across ~7 BPS applications and ~45 applications overall. You will partner closely with senior GTS product leadership and cross-value stream technology teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end outcomes.

What you’ll do:

As our Head of Receivable Finance Technology (RF Tech), you will oversee the RF technology organisation and ensure the delivery of secure, resilient, and modern technology capabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include,



but are not limited to, the following:

- Strategy & target state Own RF technology strategy and future-state platform roadmap aligned to bank and GTS technology direction.

Define a global target state incorporating required regional/country variations.

- IT product management Accountable for the IT product management function for RF technology; set outcomes, KPIs, prioritisation and governance.

- Delivery & transformation Lead delivery across change and run; drive the RF modernisation programme across in-house and vendor platforms.

Improve time-to-market and enable standardised product and operating model outcomes.

- Production support & operational excellence Own production stability, resilience and continuous improvement across the RF application estate.

- Stakeholder management Partner closely with senior GTS product leadership (GTS Chief Product Office; Structured Trade Product; Global RF Product) and cross-value stream technology teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Leadership & people Lead and develop ~100 direct FTE; build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture and strong succession.

- Leadership & Teamwork: Build and lead a high-performing organisation with clear accountability across strategy, delivery and run.

Develop critical skillsets in team members and provide a stimulating work environment that supports modern engineering practices.

Recruit, retain and develop high-calibre, diverse talent; build succession and mobility opportunities.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and inclusion, reflecting HSBC’s brand and values.

Represent RF Technology in senior governance forums, ensuring transparent decision-making and delivery outcomes.

- The candidates we are looking for must:



Be able to operate effectively across time zones and support key governance forums and critical delivery milestones.

Be able to provide leadership coverage during major incidents and high-severity events when required.

Be flexible and adaptable in an environment of constantly changing priorities, balancing pace with control, risk and quality.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

- Strong transaction banking knowledge preferred (trade finance / receivable finance / payments).
- Proven senior technology leadership across complex, regulated environments.
- Strong architecture and engineering capability (microservices, APIs, modern SDLC/DevSecOps; high- and low-level design).
- Track record delivering large-scale transformation with measurable outcomes (stability, speed, cost, risk reduction).
- Strong stakeholder management and governance experience at senior forums.
- Experience leading mixed delivery models across in-house engineering and vendor platforms.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
