Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails

- Build and integrate RESTful APIs to connect frontend and backend systems

- Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks/libraries

- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following Rails conventions and best practices

- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations for performance and scalability

- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the frontend, backend, and database

- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality

- Ensure application security by implementing best practices against vulnerabilities like SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF

- Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and performance

- Manage version control using Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests

- Test and deploy applications, and support post-deployment monitoring and bug fixes

- Maintain technical documentation for developed features and system architecture

Requirements

- 2 to 4 years of experience in full stack web development using Ruby on Rails

- Strong knowledge of Ruby and hands-on experience with the Rails framework





- Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL, including queries, associations, and optimization

- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)

- Experience with a frontend framework/library such as React, Vue.js, or Stimulus

- Understanding of MVC architecture and object-oriented programming concepts

- Familiarity with Git for version control

- Knowledge of Bundler and Gem dependency management

- Basic understanding of Linux server environment and deployment (Heroku/Nginx/Passenger)

- Awareness of web security practices (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF prevention)

- Ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams and manage deadlines

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Hotwire/Turbo or Stimulus.js

- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Heroku

- Familiarity with Docker

- Knowledge of background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque)

- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines

- Familiarity with SASS/LESS

- Experience with Postman for API testing

- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
