Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced L2 Network Security Engineer with hands-on expertise in Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls, network security operations, and threat defense. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting 24x7 security operations, ensuring infrastructure uptime, mitigating security risks, and maintaining robust network defenses.

Key Responsibilities

- Firewall Administration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls, encompassing security policies, Network Address Translation (NAT), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), routing, and High Availability (HA) configurations.

- VPN Management: Implement, configure, and troubleshoot Site-to-Site IPsec VPNs as well as Remote Access SSL and IPsec VPN solutions.

- Security Monitoring & Threat Mitigation: Monitor security events, investigate network anomalies, and administer advanced FortiGate security features including Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Antivirus, Web Filtering, Application Control, and SSL Inspection.

- Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, routing, firewall policy, NAT, VPN, and security-related issues efficiently.

- Incident & Ticket Management: Manage and resolve security incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), coordinate with external vendors,



and document thorough Root-Cause Analyses (RCA).

- Operational Support: Execute daily health checks, periodic firewall rule reviews, log analyses, configuration backups, and routine maintenance tasks.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with cross-functional teams within a 24x7 shift rotation to guarantee seamless operational uptime and security posture.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in the Network Security domain.

- Core Expertise: Strong configuration and troubleshooting proficiency in Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.

- Technical Competencies: Direct experience with Firewall Policies, NAT, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, Static/Dynamic Routing, and High Availability.

- Security Features: Solid working knowledge of FortiGate security profiles, including IPS, Antivirus, Web Filtering, Application Control, and SSL Inspection.

- Networking Fundamentals: Comprehensive understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VPN, DNS, BGP, and OSPF.

- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze firewall logs and troubleshoot intricate security and connectivity bottlenecks.

Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Experience operating FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

- Practical exposure to Web Application Firewall (WAF) and advanced IPS technologies.

- Familiarity with complementary security technologies, such as secure web proxies, endpoint security, or SIEM platforms.

- Skilled Certification: Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) in Network Security or other relevant industry-recognized Fortinet certifications.
