Role OverviewLooking for a Firmware Architect who can own and evolve complex firmware and embedded OS layer architecture for high-assurance hardware products.

The person should be comfortable working at the boundary of firmware, embedded software, system architecture, product behavior, and real-world customer use cases. The role requires someone who can understand complex end applications, translate them into clean technical architecture, and guide the implementation toward a stable, auditable, and production-ready product.

Prior experience in our specific domain is not mandatory. We value strong architectural thinking, ownership, structured design ability, and the curiosity to learn recent technical areas deeply

Key Responsibilities

- Own firmware and embedded OS-layer architecture for hardware-based products.
- Understand product use cases, deployment environments, customer workflows, and system-level requirements.
- Translate high-level product and application requirements into firmware architecture, design modules, interfaces, and execution flows.
- Comprehend the existing architecture, identify gaps, and evolve it without unnecessary redesign.
- Define clean software boundaries across boot, system initialization, runtime services, application layers, management interfaces, and update flows.
- Work closely with hardware, FPGA, product, application engineering, and validation teams.
- Build architecture that is maintainable, testable, scalable, and suitable for long product lifecycles.
- Create clear design documents, interface specifications, state machines, flow diagrams, and implementation guidance for the engineering team.




- Review firmware implementation for correctness, robustness, security posture, error handling, and long-term maintainability.
- Support structured external evaluation, technical evidence preparation, and product assurance activities.
- Mentor engineers and help them convert ambiguous requirements into practical implementation steps.
- Own technical decisions across architecture, trade-offs, debugging, and release readiness.

Relevant Experience o Around 7+ years of experience in embedded firmware, embedded software, or system software development. o Strong experience in firmware architecture or embedded OS-layer design.

o Good understanding of boot flows, memory management, task scheduling, inter-process or intermodule communication, error handling, fault recovery, and system initialization o Experience working with complex embedded systems where firmware interacts with hardware, application logic, and external interfaces.

o Ability to read and understand existing codebases and architecture without needing everything to be explained from scratch.

o Robust C/C++ programming background.

o Ability to design abstractions, interfaces, and modular firmware components.

o Experience with RTOS, embedded Linux, bare-metal systems, or custom embedded runtime environments.

o Good debugging ability across software-hardware boundaries.

o Strong documentation skills for architecture, design, and engineering handover.

o Ability to work with incomplete information and still bring structure to the problem.

Education o Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
