About Us

We are a fast-growing UAE and UK based data engineering, AI and computational finance consulting company. We work with banks and financial institutions in providing them consulting services including resource augmentation. In this role you will supporting a UK-based fast growing, institutional backed Fintech alternative lender specializing in residential Buy-to-Let (BTL), bridging loans, and real estate financing.

Role Overview

Responsible for analysing, documenting and reporting on the Company’s operational Finance information and data accurately and to agreed timescales. This includes the production and full analysis of management and statutory accounts and preparation of journals. In addition, perform variance analysis for cost and income. The role will also encompass Accounts Payable duties initially.

The ideal candidate will bring have technical experience in understating how financial statements are prepared from data entry through to trail balance stage and financial statement production. Good Excel skills, and knowledge of XERO /ERP GL’s is imperative.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Finance function to include Accounts Payable. To ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Plan, schedule, analyse and prepare all core Finance journals and tasks to ensure they are completed accurately and timely
- Fully understand all secondary accounting entries and ledgers, including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and all other required adjustments
- Prepare and maintain monthly / periodic controls including intercompany reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals & prepayments
- Investigate, analyse and rectify reconciliation breaks collaborating with the Operations team to ensure management accounts reflect an accurate picture




- Responsible for the timely month end close ensuring complete data integrity and accuracy
- Assist in the production of robust management information ready for reporting
- Analyse actual versus budget costs, evaluate fee recognition, prepare working schedules and management accounting packs as part of the month-end process, which ensures that management accounts are completed and fully analysed within required timelines
- Completion and distribution of the Company’s cost centre reports
- Pro-actively work with and challenge the business on aspects of financial performance by forming strong relationships with stakeholders across the Company to avoid budget overspends
- Forecast, understand and track benefits from cost savings/efficiency projects
- Research changes to accounting standards, proactively maintain own knowledge and awareness of financial judgement developments and instigate internal team discussions
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure effective departmental and overall financial control
- Any additional analysis as requested by your line manager or CFO
- The role will also encompass Accounts Payable duties initially – invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliation, payment approvals and processing

Key Requirements

Essential

- Experience of preparing or auditing management reporting packs and other management information for regulated and non-regulated entities
- Experience of working in a lending environment with a bank or a non-bank financial institution.
- Demonstrable knowledge of IFRS/ FRS102 GAAP.
- A resilient problem solver with the ability for creative thinking and to work under own initiative and tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills; adept at interrogating complex information to identify cause and effect and deliver accurate business insight and management information
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Able and passionate to proactively design and implement business improvements and change
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver complex financial information and messages to stakeholders from a wide audience, as well as confidently present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Effective and proactive relationship builder able to engage and manage stakeholders, developing effective relationships with colleagues and management at all levels
- Ability and willingness to support the team and adopt a flexible approach to address changing demands
- Strong organisational and personal effectiveness skills, including time and project management.
- Excellent IT knowledge and skills with outstanding working knowledge of MS Excel and Xero accounting software
- Very strong book keeping skills

Academic and/or professional qualifications

- CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified or Part Qualified
- Educated to degree standard in numerate/finance/business/accounting or similar subject or equivalent experience.
