We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in roll forming and production operations. The role involves managing shift activities, ensuring smooth roll forming operations, troubleshooting machine and process issues, maintaining production and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:-
Production & Shift Management
- Plan and organize shift schedules to ensure smooth production operations.
- Coordinate with other shift in-charges for effective shift handover and continuity.
- Monitor and manage the roll forming process to ensure adherence to operational and production standards.
- Ensure completion of daily 5S activities, machine check sheets, breakdown reports, and tool condition monitoring.
- Monitor daily production output and identify factors affecting productivity.
- Prepare and monitor daily scrap reports and take corrective actions to reduce scrap.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve roll forming machine and process-related technical issues.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Raise and monitor breakdown reports for machines and tools.
- Support IMTE (Inspection, Measuring & Test Equipment) maintenance and ensure equipment availability.
- Identify recurring machine/process issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure production activities comply with defined quality standards and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, Kaizen, and productivity improvement.
- Promote Quality Circle concepts and continuous improvement within the team.
- Analyze production and quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support reduction of rejection, rework, scrap, and production downtime.
- Participate in internal audits and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Team Management & Training
- Train recent employees on production processes, machine operation, safety, and work procedures.
- Identify skill gaps among team members and coordinate necessary training programs.
- Guide and supervise production operators and technicians during the shift.
- Promote safe working practices and effective teamwork.
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Monitor availability of raw materials required for production.
- Coordinate with the inventory/material management team for timely replenishment.
- Monitor finished goods and ensure proper production flow.
- Coordinate with other departments to avoid production interruptions.
