About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Energy / Oil & Gas Accountant with hands-on experience in accounting and financial operations within the energy or oil & gas industry. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of production accounting, revenue accounting, joint venture accounting, royalty accounting, working interests, operating costs, asset accounting and financial reporting.

Experience supporting US oil & gas companies, energy producers, operators or international energy clients will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounting activities for energy and oil & gas entities.
- Support production and revenue accounting activities.
- Record and reconcile oil, gas and energy production revenues.
- Support revenue allocation based on ownership and working interest.
- Perform Joint Venture Accounting and partner reconciliations.
- Support royalty accounting and related reconciliations.
- Track operating, exploration, development and production costs.
- Support oil & gas property and asset accounting.
- Calculate and record depreciation, depletion and amortization.
- Prepare Journal Entries, Accruals and accounting adjustments.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, revenue and account reconciliations.
- Support AP and AR activities.
- Support Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close.
- Prepare financial reports, revenue schedules and cost reports.




- Investigate accounting discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Operations, Production, Land, Revenue, Joint Venture and Finance teams.
- Support audit requirements and internal controls.
- Support process improvement initiatives related to energy accounting.

Key Software Microsoft Excel, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Quorum, Enertia, WolfePak, P2 Energy Solutions, Peloton, Oildex, Power BI; experience with other ERP, energy accounting, production or land management systems will also be considered.

Qualifications & Skills

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / Accounting or a related field.
- CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA or relevant professional qualification preferred.
- 3-8 years of relevant Energy / Oil & Gas / Production Accounting experience.
- Robust knowledge of production, revenue and cost accounting.
- Joint Venture, royalty or working interest accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of depletion, depreciation and amortization preferred.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting US oil & gas or energy clients preferred.
