Educational Requirements & Core Professional requirements

- Education: B.E or Diploma in Electronics
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of direct hands-on experience working inside high-complexity PCB layout environments, hardware manufacturing facilities, or specialized ECAD quality assurance configurations.

Role Overview:
- ECAD Quality Control (QC) Engineer acts as the ultimate Technical gatekeeper between raw electronic design environments and final high-volume manufacturing facilities.
- This highly specialized position is responsible for Auditing, Validating and Certifying multi-layer, High-Density interconnect (HDI), High-speed digital, RF and mixed-signal printed circuit board (PCB) designs.
- Operating at the intersection of electrical engineering, mechanical constraints, and hardware manufacturing sciences, the ECAD QC Engineer ensures that 100% of released schematics, layout data, fabrication files, and assembly databases conform strictly to industry standards, internal company specifications, regulatory compliance mandates, and production yield requirements.
- The primary objective of this role is to eliminate design-induced manufacturing escapes, significantly reduce post-release engineering changes and maximize first-pass yield (FPY) at the production facility.

1. Schematic (SCH) Review
- Review and audit schematic changes from the legacy design to the current design version.
- Verify all modifications, netlist changes, and component value updates, and document the details.

- Cross-check and record any special design guidelines, constraints, or unique requirements provided by the Hardware Engineering team.

2. PCB Component Placement
- Verify component placement against the legacy design (where applicable) to ensure design continuity.
- Ensure strict adherence to mechanical constraints (keepouts, height restrictions, connector alignments, and mounting holes).
- Validate placement for critical signals (minimizing loop areas, placing decoupling capacitors close to IC pins).
- Evaluate thermal considerations (placement of hot components, thermal vias, and copper pours for dissipation).

3. ECAD Component Library Integrity Management
- Audit newly established and modified schematic symbols, 2D PCB footprints, and integrated 3D STEP models to verify precise conformity with component datasheets and manufacturer physical tolerances.
- Cross-verify logical pin mapping assignments dynamically between schematic symbols and multi-pin physical high-density packages to prevent catastrophic layout routing faults.

4. Routing & Signal Integrity Audit
- Review trace routing to ensure zero 90-degree bends or acute angles (preventing acid traps and signal discontinuities).
- Audit layer stackup usage,

ensuring proper reference planes for high-speed signals.
- Verify differential pairs and impedance-controlled signals for length matching, trace width, and spacing compliance.
- Check power and ground routing, including plane splits, current-carrying capacity and via stitching.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Design Rule Checks (DRC) and specific hardware engineering requirements, documenting any deviations from the legacy layout.

5. Manufacturing Deliverable & Fabrication Sign-Off responsibility.
- Conduct deep-dive visual and systematic inspections of all production-ready manufacturing packages, meticulously auditing ODB++ databases, Gerber files, netlist and drill files.
- Verify that the fabrication drawing data matches actual model dimensions, layer stackups, base materials (FR-4, Rogers, Megtron), impedance control coupon targets, soldermask clearances, surface finish choices and tolerance callouts.

Preferred Qualities
- Strong analytical, pattern matching and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on ECAD experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced project environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
