ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a creative and experienced Design Manager Mens Casual to lead the design and product development function for our Mens Casualwear category. The role will be responsible for identifying fashion trends, developing commercially viable design concepts, building seasonal collections, and leading the design team from concept to final product. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in mens casualwear, fabric and trim selection, product development, and team leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design & Collection Development

- Lead the design and development of Mens Casualwear collections aligned with brand identity and target customer requirements.
- Develop seasonal design concepts, themes, colour palettes, silhouettes, and product ranges.
- Translate fashion trends and market insights into commercially viable product designs.
- Drive range building and ensure the right product mix across categories.

2. Fashion Trend & Market Analysis

- Research current and upcoming fashion, lifestyle, colour, fabric, and silhouette trends.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify new product opportunities.
- Track domestic and international menswear trends relevant to the brand.
- Convert trend insights into actionable design directions and seasonal collections.

3. Design Concept & Range Building

- Develop design concepts, mood boards, storyboards, and seasonal themes.




- Create and maintain a balanced product range based on market demand and business requirements.
- Ensure design consistency across the collection while maintaining freshness and innovation.
- Work closely with merchandising and product teams to align collections with commercial objectives.

4. Fabric, Print & Trim Selection

- Select appropriate fabrics, prints, washes, colours, trims, and embellishments based on design concepts.
- Coordinate with fabric and sourcing teams for current developments.
- Evaluate fabric suitability, quality, appearance, performance, and commercial feasibility.
- Develop innovative print and surface design concepts suitable for Mens Casualwear.

5. Product Development & Sampling

- Oversee the complete design-to-sample development process.
- Review samples, fit, construction, colour, print placement, fabric, and overall design execution.
- Provide clear design inputs and comments for sample corrections and improvements.
- Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, production, and technical teams to ensure timely product development.
- Ensure final products meet design, quality, and brand standards.

6. Design Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and guide the design team to achieve seasonal and business objectives.
- Allocate design projects and monitor timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Build a creative and collaborative design culture within the team.




- Ensure timely completion of design and product development activities.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Strong expertise in Mens Casualwear Design.
- Excellent understanding of fashion trends and consumer preferences.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, prints, colours, trims, and garment construction.
- Expertise in range planning and collection development.
- Strong product development and sampling knowledge.
- Creative thinking with strong commercial awareness.
- Good understanding of apparel manufacturing and production processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple collections/projects.

PREFERRED PROFILE

- 510 years of relevant experience in Mens Casualwear / Apparel / Fashion Design.
- Candidates with experience in branded apparel, fashion retail, or garment manufacturing will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in developing commercial Mens Casualwear collections.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design concepts, collections, and product development experience will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work from Chennai / Bangalore.

EDUCATION

- Graduate in Fashion Design / Apparel Design / Textile Design or a related discipline.
