Mechanical Design Engineer (GA Drawings & Equipment Design)

Experience: 5 10 Years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare General Arrangement (GA) Drawings, Equipment Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, and Plant Layouts using AutoCAD and other mechanical design software.

2. Develop detailed mechanical drawings for process equipment, tanks, pressure vessels, piping layouts, platforms, ladders, railings, support structures, and installation drawings.

3. Prepare fabrication drawings with complete dimensions, tolerances, welding details, material specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

4. Coordinate with Process, Civil, Electrical, Procurement, and Project Execution teams to ensure design accuracy and smooth project execution.
5. Review and revise drawings based on engineering calculations, client comments, site requirements, and fabrication feedback.
6. Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and company drafting practices.
7. Support manufacturing, fabrication, and site installation teams by providing technical clarifications and resolving drawing-related issues.
8. Optimize equipment layouts and plant layouts considering accessibility, maintenance,

fabrication feasibility, and installation requirements.

9. Maintain drawing revisions, document control,



and engineering records throughout the project lifecycle.
10. Coordinate with vendors and fabrication shops to ensure drawings are correctly interpreted and manufactured as per design intent.

Required Skills

Robust hands-on experience in GA Drawings, Equipment Drawings, Fabrication

Drawings, and Plant Layouts.

Proficiency in AutoCAD (Mandatory).

Knowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or other 3D CAD software will be an added advantage.

Good understanding of mechanical fabrication, structural steel, sheet metal, tanks,

piping, and process equipment.

Experience in STP/ETP/WTP, Industrial Plants, EPC Projects, Process Equipment, or

Manufacturing Industries.

Knowledge of BOM preparation, drafting standards, GD&T;, and engineering documentation.

Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
