Eligibility & Required Skills

- MEO Class I Certificate of Competency Mandatory.
- Certificate should be valid and issued/recognized by DG Shipping, Government of India.
- Relevant marine engineering / seagoing experience.
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, auxiliary machinery and electrical/mechanical systems.
- Positive leadership and team-management skills.
- Ability to handle machinery breakdowns and emergency situations.
- Good communication, coordination and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, planned maintenance systems and statutory
- Overall responsibility for safe and efficient engine-room operations.
- Operate and maintain main engine, auxiliary engines, generators, pumps and marine machinery.
- Plan and supervise preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor machinery performance and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Ensure DG Shipping, statutory, safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintain engine-room logbooks, maintenance records and technical reports.




- Supervise and manage engineering crew and technicians.
- Manage spares, tools, lubricants and engineering consumables.
- Coordinate with Master, shore management, contractors and service engineers.
- Handle emergency breakdowns and machinery failures.
- Ensure timely completion of planned maintenance and inspections.
- Support surveys, audits and statutory inspections.
- Ensure compliance with SMS, HSE and company procedures.
- Control engineering costs, manpower and resources.
- Maintain machinery in safe, reliable and operational condition.
