BIM Manager - Roles & Responsibilities

1. BIM Leadership & Governance

- Lead and oversee BIM implementation across all projects and disciplines.
- Act as the managerial representative for BIM, collaborating closely with IT, Digital Engineering, and Technology leadership teams.
- Support the Technology Director in developing, implementing, and enforcing BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and promote BIM adoption throughout the organization.
- Establish BIM governance procedures and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.

2. Project BIM Delivery Management

- Oversee the 3D model production process to ensure:

- Effective task delegation

- Design ticket management

- Team communication

- Quality assurance

- Schedule compliance
- Support project teams in the delivery of BIM and VDC services throughout all project phases.
- Configure project BIM environments and establish project-specific BIM execution strategies.
- Conduct regular project reviews to ensure modelling efforts align with project budgets and milestones.

3. Model Coordination & Quality Assurance

- Establish and manage model coordination processes.
- Build and configure Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM Collaborate Model Coordination spaces.
- Conduct model audits and review:

- Model quality

- Data integrity

- Compliance with BIM standards

- Model health metrics
- Perform clash detection and coordination management.




- Review constructability during early design stages and recommend improvements.
- Support model corruption prevention, troubleshooting, and recovery.

4. BIM Standards & Library Management

- Manage and continuously improve BIM standards and workflows.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of BIM content libraries.

- Revit templates

- Shared parameters

- Project standards
- Develop and maintain company BIM manuals, standards, and execution plans.

5. Revit Customization & Technology Development

- Support Power Users and discipline teams in developing Revit customizations and automation tools.
- Work with technology teams to improve modeling efficiency through:

- Dynamo scripts
- Revit add-ins

- Automation workflows
- Maintain and improve project templates and digital tools.

6. Training & Capability Development

- Develop BIM competency across the organization.

- Deliver

- Recent user onboarding training

- Advanced BIM training
- Discipline-specific workshops
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation.
- Mentor BIM Coordinators, BIM Leads, and Modelers.

7. Client & Stakeholder Management





- Attend client and consultant meetings to provide BIM leadership and technical guidance.
- Define project setup structures and collaboration strategies.

- Provide directions on

- BIM execution planning
- Model-sharing processes

- Information management requirements

- Coordination procedures
- Serve as a BIM subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.

8. Business Development & Proposal Support

- Assist in preparing technical and commercial bid proposals.
- Support BIM-related responses during tender submissions.
- Develop BIM execution methodologies for project pursuits.
- Demonstrate the company's BIM and Digital Engineering capabilities to potential clients.

9. VDC & Performance Monitoring

- Monitor and record Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) metrics.
- Analyze BIM performance indicators and department KPIs.
- Track productivity and model development progress.
- Report on departmental BIM performance to management.

10. Documentation & Information Management

- Prepare, manage, and maintain:

- BIM Execution Plans (BEP)

- Project BIM Specifications

- Model Audit Reports

- Coordination Reports

- BIM Deliverables
- Ensure accurate information exchange and document control processes.

11. Quantity Take-Off & Data Management

- Review and verify model-based quantity extraction.
- Validate quantity reports and model information accuracy.
- Support estimating, planning, procurement, and construction teams with BIM-derived data.
