Role: Big ID Engineer

Core Competencies

- Responsible for supporting the installation of the BigID core/foundation.
- Deploy, and manage the BigID platform, including data discovery, classification, and retention modules.
- Lead implementation of BigID Data classification framework, including policy creation, sensitive data identification, tagging, and data categorization.
- Deploy and configure BigID Retention module, including: Data retention policy definition, Data lifecycle management, Automated retention and deletion workflows
- Integrate and configure BigID connectors for structured and unstructured data sources (databases, cloud, file systems, SaaS).
- Implement and enforce data retention and minimization policies aligned with regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Develop and maintain classification rules, custom policies, and ML-based classifiers within BigID.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams to align data governance and retention strategies.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize BigID scans, classification accuracy, and retention workflows.
- Stay updated with new BigID features, particularly around classification models and retention capabilities.
- Configure BigID modules: DSAR Labeling RoPA Privacy Remediation apps.




- Configure retention policies, end to end configuration and testing of the effectiveness of retention module
- Prepare required test cases based on the requirement document finalized.
- Test the configuration prior to the release of the module for UAT by the client team.
- Reaching out to BigID team through service request if required support is required.
- Create and maintain supporting documents, including technical design guides, policy and process run books, and other documentation to ensure clarity for support, accuracy, and consistency
- Operationalizing data discovery and governance platforms to support data governance initiatives, including identifying, quantifying and managing data risk by leveraging data classification and risk rating, data catalogs, and data dictionaries/ business glossaries
- Drive effective and efficient privacy-oriented practices in collaboration with our privacy team, including data subject rights response and identification of privacy risks
- Create effective and understandable data-related policies, standards, procedures and guidance that are practical for the business to execute.
- Create and maintain documented, scalable, and effective processes
- Provides detailed level information to clients around CCPA, CPRA, PIPL, GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA among other domestic and global privacy laws
