Purpose/Objective

Associate - Protection is responsible for supporting the strategic development and oversight of protection systems within the vertical, ensuring effective fault management, compliance with safety standards, and the optimization of protection infrastructure across renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Implementation of Protection Systems: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of advanced protection systems across renewable energy assets.

Ensure that these systems function optimally to meet the company's operational needs, while adhering to industry standards and supporting future scalability.

Collaborate with the team to enhance fault detection, isolation, and protection capabilities.

Support in Fault Management: Support the fault identification, analysis, and resolution processes within protection systems.

Assist in promptly detecting and isolating faults and implementing corrective measures to minimize downtime.

Ensure the continuous functioning of critical infrastructure and help maintain operational continuity across renewable energy assets.

Adherence to Safety Standards: Contribute to ensuring that all protection systems comply with national and international safety standards, regulations, and internal policies.

Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and assist in identifying potential hazards.

Address any non-compliance issues to maintain full regulatory adherence.

Assisting in Optimization Efforts: Assist in optimizing protection infrastructure by helping to integrate new technologies and best practices.





Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to analyze performance data and identify areas for improvement.

Support the implementation of technical upgrades to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Team Collaboration and Skill Development: Work closely with the protection team and provide support in executing tasks under the guidance of senior team members.

Engage in continuous learning and development activities to build technical expertise in protection systems.

Promote teamwork and contribute to achieving departmental objectives.

Stakeholder Support and Reporting Assistance: Support coordination with internal departments, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies regarding protection systems.

Assist in preparing reports and presentations on system performance, risks, and improvement strategies, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to the lead and other senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution is mandatory.

Specialization in power systems, electrical machines, or control systems is preferred.

Postgraduate degree in a relevant field can be an added advantage.

Work Experience: 5 - 7 years of experience in the electrical domain, with a solid preference for experience in the renewable energy sector.

Hands-on experience in electrical systems testing, quality control, and standards is essential.
