Role & responsibilities

1. Infrastructure & Datacenter Management

- Lead deployment and maintenance of servers, storage, VM virtualization, and backup systems.
- Manage VMWare clusters, HA/DR configurations, and performance tuning.
- Execute capacity planning, performance analysis, and hardware lifecycle upgrades.

2. Network, Security & Connectivity

- Manage LAN/WAN, leased lines, internet and P2P links.
- Administer firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and security segmentation.
- Ensure compliance with SEBI/Exchange cyber guidelines and audit requirements.
- Maintain uninterrupted connectivity with exchanges and external systems.

3. Trading Platform Operations

- Manage infrastructure for OMS, RMS, DP systems, Back Office, and Algo/API platforms.
- Monitor latency, throughput, and trading load.
- Coordinate with exchanges and vendors for patches, upgrades, and environment health.
- Ensure minimal downtime and fast incident recovery during market hours.

4. BOD/EOD Processes & SOPs

- Create and enforce detailed SOPs for operational tasks, validations, and batch jobs.
- Manage exchange-related processes including trade files, margin files, and reconciliations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, logs, and evidence repositories.
- Automate repetitive processes to improve accuracy and speed.

5. ODIN BOD Process

- Review BOD periodically with the reporting manager to ensure responsibilities remain relevant and up to date.
- Track completion and accountability for assigned duties, ensuring timely execution and escalation of gaps or exceptions.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to clarify ownership, dependencies, and handoffs between functions.




- Maintain appropriate documentation and records within ODIN for auditability and process compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve role clarity, eliminate duplication of responsibilities, and streamline processes.

6. Monitoring, Incident Management & Compliance

- Implement monitoring tools for servers, network, and trading applications.
- Establish incident response procedures, RCA workflows, and corrective actions.
- Conduct DR drills, backup restoration testing, and routine health audits.
- Ensure adherence to SEBI, NSE/BSE, MCX, CDSL/NSDL norms.

7. Team Leadership & Vendor Governance

- Lead system, network, and IT operations teams.
- Assign responsibilities, mentor staff, and build a proactive work culture.
- Manage vendors, AMCs, procurement, and SLAs.
- Evaluate technologies that enhance resilience and efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills

- Strong experience with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL / Ubuntu), AD, DNS, DHCP
- Hands-on knowledge of VMware virtualization
- Valuable understanding of trading platforms (APIs, RMS/OMS, market data feeds etc)
- Database administration (MS SQL, MySQL)
- Firewall & endpoint protection
- AWS Ops, Scripting (PowerShell, Bash) desirable

Key Competencies

- Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Excellent documentation and SOP-writing abilities.
- High ownership, attention to detail, and strong coordination skills.
- Balance operational stability with modernization initiatives.

Preferred Candidate:

- 3-8 years in IT infrastructure roles, preferably in broking domain.
- Strong experience with VMWare, Windows/Linux, firewalls, and datacenter management.
- Exposure to trading systems, exchange connectivity, and regulatory frameworks.
- Certifications such as VMWare, CCNA/CCNP, ITIL are preferred.
