Role: Application Maintenance & Production Support

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SSE) with strong Mainframe development and support experience in COBOL, IMS DB, and DB2. The candidate will be responsible for application maintenance, production support, incident resolution, enhancements, and client communication. The role requires excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2/L3 application support for Mainframe applications.

Analyze and resolve production incidents, job failures, and data-related issues.

Perform impact analysis and implement code enhancements as per business requirements.

Develop and maintain COBOL programs, JCLs, DB2 queries, and IMS DB components.

Support batch processing and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.

Coordinate with business users, clients, and cross-functional teams for issue resolution.

Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.





Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing activities.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer sessions.

Participate in on-call support and release activities as required.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB.

Good understanding of Mainframe application architecture.

Experience in application maintenance and production support.

Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.

Experience in analyzing abends, batch failures, and performance issues.

Knowledge of SQL and database design concepts.

Familiarity with change management and release processes.

Communication & Client Interaction

Ability to interact directly with clients and business stakeholders.

Ability to lead discussions, provide status updates, and manage client expectations.

Strong collaboration and coordination skills across teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience in Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain domains.

Experience with monitoring and support tools.
